Owner-operator Benjamin Dumitrascuta is a second-generation building professional—his father, Gelu, established his own construction company in the 1980s after emigrating from Eastern Europe and taught his son the trade at a very young age. “He instilled in me the importance of quality craftsmanship, and that remains my number one objective today,” says Mr. Dumitrascuta. Benjamin Construction takes a personalized approach to dealing with customers and develops close relationships with them that continue even after their construction projects are finished. “Personal service is an important part of my process,” confirms Mr. Dumitrascuta. “I personally handle all cabinet, finish, tile, framing/carpentry, foundation, electrical and plumbing work in-house, and I’m heavily involved in the design of each project.”

    I needed to replace an old redwood deck that extended across the entire back of the house and to replace the uprights that supported the deck cover. I asked for, reviewed, and interviewed five top rated contractors. Benjamin listened to my concerns, thoroughly answered my questions, and completely explained what would be involved in replacing the deck including how long it would take. He and his crew did everything they said they would in the time they said. In fact, they did more. As with any project, there were problems. These problems were resolved without complaint or extra charge. The crew was on time, efficient, hard working, extremely neat and left the job thoroughly clean and ready to use. The deck looks great and feels solid and secure.

    If I ever need any kind of construction work again, the first person I would call is Benjamin. I have no reservations in recommending Benjamin D. Construction Co.
