    $400,000

    C&D Freitas built a 2-story, 1400sq ft addition to my house in 2015/16. This is the first time I have had to work with a contractor for a major home renovation, and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. My concern before starting the project and in selecting a contractor was probably the same as most people – how much is this really going to cost? Freitas negated this concern from the moment they supplied their bid. Every item of the construction was well documented in the bid, and all the costs clearly laid out. As Clarence explained to me, their goal was to come in exactly where they budgeted – and they did. It was entirely up to me in choosing alternates above the allocated budget (granite instead of tile, high-end fixtures, etc.) that would impact the project cost. This budgeting process gave me the peace of mind that my project would cost what I was told it would, and this confidence was a key reason for choosing C&D Freitas over other contractors (one contractor provided just a total $$ amount for the project – are you kidding??).
    But it was more than just the budgeting process that caused me to choose C&D Freitas. The collective experience of Clarence, Danny and his team is phenomenal. You only have to meet with them once to see this level of experience. Even before accepting the project, C&D Freitas’s multiple walkthroughs of my house showed me that these folks have been doing this for a long time, and see things that others do not.
    The building process went smoothly and ran on schedule. Danny and his team of sub-contractors are total professionals. As I learned through this process, if you address their questions quickly and make decisions according to the timing they highlight (like ordering windows & doors, and picking out granite, etc.), the project will get completed in the timeframe for which they committed. They were able to address issues in my architectural plans (and there were many), which could have ended up in disaster, but instead became better than the original plan for every single issue that came up. A key learning is importance of having C&D Freitas involved in the creation of the original plans, so you know that the final plans can actually be built. Next time I will do that for sure.
    Besides just Clarence and Danny, their team of contractors are also exceptional. I guess the best testament to this is that they are all who I still use for little projects long since the house addition was completed. I trust them this much, and this says a lot for C&D Freitas to have this level of expertise and professionalism working with them.
    So, while any major house project is daunting, C&D Freitas made this as painless as possible, and I would (and do) use them for any other house projects and I recommend them to all of my friends and neighbors.
