My experience with RL Toughs was great. Very detailed and skilled when it comes to painting your home. Kept me in the loop the entire time of the project and the owner Drew provided wonderful knowledge to me to help understand the painting process. I highly recommend this painting company.

If there were a grade lower than 1 star we would give that to RL Toughs. Please read other customer reviews on Yelp, Yahoo, Angie's List and Merchantcircle as the same problems we experienced cropped up with past clients too. Don't bother with the self congratulating 'references' they provide.Sickening that this guy boasts that he is a veteran, what a disgrace, gives all those vets actually trying to get a professional and ethical business off the ground a bad name! The only difference for us is that we paid over no money. Smart move on our part. We were initially quoted an exorbitant amount for the work. We declined to use them. They then came back with a hugely lowered price (kinda makes you think huh!)If you do decide to use these guys DON'T PAY ANY MONEY UNTIL YOU ARE 100% SATISFIED THAT THE JOB IS COMPLETE TO YOUR SATIFACTION, which it will in all likelihood never be given the way they operate. Also, do not fall into the trap of approving the job as 'complete' while the paint is still wet on the day they finish, rather wait at least 24 hours to ascertain actual completion, to you, the paying clients standards. They will cajole you into paying the full amount the day they finish painting (wet paint looks good, dry paint done the short cut way they do it, in differing lights, does not) by saying that if there are any problems you have 45 days in which they will apparently fix any painter fault errors. But first pay up all the money. BIG MISTAKE, BIG LIE. They use that clause as a way of getting money upfront from you, and then leaving you with what is quite frankly a paint job worthy of a 5 year old. Other professional painters have subsequently come to assess the damage they caused to our place and simply shake their heads at the gross ineptitude. You will land up redoing pretty much everything yourself or paying even more money to an actual professional company to clean up their mess. The disgusting thing is that this guy proudly holds himself up as veteran and professional small business owner who we really wanted to support. So then act like it! Initially both the director Drew Aultman and his painter Tony do comes across as extremely polite. DON'T FALL FOR IT! Both have second jobs so know you will be squeezed in when they are able to work around their primary jobs. Consequently don't expect a full day's work on your project. Also, they will take half the day to go out and buy more paint. Also know they cheat you on what they promise to provide. 100% NOT wall to wall/corner to corner coverage, 100% NOT 2 coats of paint, zero use of primer or masking tape, bald face lies to your face about the entire wall being painted when it's obvious touch ups were done instead throughout the entire house, walking off the job when we say we will not pay, then threats of intimidation, then begging to come back, 100% rubbish work and far more damage to walls than was originally there to begin with, 100% arrogance, over promising and under delivering, underestimating the amount of time needed to complete the project (because all along they intend to only use 1 coat, if that, and mainly just do touch ups, not 2 coats and wall to wall as agreed).Worst of all, the highly aggressive threats of intimidation to personal safety when you say you will not pay until the work is completed to your satisfaction (to the extent that I as a young woman living alone at the time with a baby was forced to approach the police and open a police report as Mr Aultman threatened that he knew where I lived when we refused to pay for the half baked job provided) Mr Aultman then attempted many times to hide behind his contracted painter Tony and to dodge responsibility, both as a director and as a company, for damages when we threatened legal action. We are revolted by the fact that these guys are still in business and specifically that Mr Aultman is purporting to be a veteran who is operating a state of the art, professional and ethical business with integrity. He may be a vet but this is a shoddy business if ever there was one. Its no surprise that he is not endorsed with BBB accreditation, not screened by Home Advisor and he has admitted that the company is going through hard times this year. If they would just do a proper, professional job first time, stop lying and trying to cheat clients and actually put the client first instead of their own greed the business might stand a chance. They are both the masters of their own demise. Save yourself a wrecked home and STAY AWAY
