Beware of this business, they are not honest and employ bait-and-switch tactics. Below is my experience...
- Phil Rudolph gave me a written quote of $25 per window screen to replace a torn screen and fix bent frame bars. Charged $65 to inspect and give a quote. So this has to be a binding quote as they got an opportunity to inspect the work and charged me for the quote.
- Phil took $365 deposit as an advance in June. No contact after the June. After my repeated calls, commenced work in late August, just before the labor day weekend.
- Phil showed up with the crew and fixed few torn screens, did not correct bent bars. Phil left in between and his crew continues. At the end of the work, gave me an invoice of $60 per screen and demanded immediate payment in an intimidating way. The owner was not available to answer the discrepancy between the original quote and the invoice.
- Crew took rest of the window screens to their workshop without my permission.
- After waiting for 2-3 days to hear back from Phil about the invoicing discrepancy, I put the a hold on the payment check.
- Phil contacted to complain about the hold and threatened to take a legal action.
- After few months, Phil stopped by to demand the payment and asked for more advance to commence the work or even to return the rest of the window screens.
- After few months, Phil reiterated the threat of the legal action.
- In the return communication, I shared the copies of the original quote and agreed to pay $50 per window screen, provided he completes the work.
- Phil replied, "he is man of his word and will honor his word, and will complete the work". I never ever heard back from Phil again.
- In the end, they still have around 15 large custom size window screens with them. Since they took it from my premises without my permission, it may constitute as a theft.
Stay away from this business. The new owner is "Phil Rudolph" and not Tom Schneider". They are not honest people.
