    Garage Door Installation
    $500

From the very beginning, Veronica’s Compact Construction Company was very professional and prompt at returning my calls. I had them install some garage doors I bought from Menards. Veronica’s Co. worked with my schedule. The job was completed when they said it’d be completed. The garage doors were installed in a very professional and meticulous manner. I would definitely recommend Veronica’s Compact Construction Company!

Interior doors, patio door, and storm door
    $3,640

Mr. Scott's business information became known after my wife and I purchased doors for our home. Mr. Scott is a very courteous and respectful businessman who is very timely.

He and his crewmember put in our interior doors, patio door, and our storm door at an affordable rate.

The service provided was in fact excellent and we'd recommend him to others.

    Remodeling work on home

Larry Scott is a thief and liar who pretends to be contractor and he carries a gun. He stole money from me and my wife and is using the church as a cover. He also took advantage of a church member by having him sign over his home. Larry tried to sell me stolen property from the man's home who inhertied it from his mother and was down on his luck. He steals as he council the church member. The church is covering for his misdeeds and are aware of his activiaties. Never use Veronica Constuction unless you want to argue with crazy contractor armed with a gun in your home. The work they do is the worst and will not pass code inspection. He owe's me 5250.00. Save yourself the trouble and NEVER use this business.

I am a praying man and will continue to pray for evildoers. I have never said to anyone that I was Jesus and i do repent daily for my sins. My response to jessie miller is you are a liar! I had a customer who asked me to sell some materials for him that he could not use. Since the customer got incarcerated before our project ended he asked my to send the monies if any to his cook county books. The state law allows conceal and carry so what's your point jesse miller? He failed to mention that i had him arrested by the Country Club Hills Police dept in 2016 for"Aggravated Assault" after he pulled a gun on me, and lying to the States attorney office saying i tried to steal his toilet. See case# below. RE: File No. 2016-CONSC-00034616 – jesse miller Or -- case #OAG2016-000029394 OUR RESPONSE: jesse miller has lied to the Attorney General Lisa Madigan and her office. Is that not a federal offense punishable by law?? Example- May 21st 2016 I was in an all day meeting at my church…May the 27th 2016 was the day he committed aggravated assault on my life. Why did miller not mention above his arrest by the Country Club Hills police for aggravated assault??? Why would a contractor try to steal property, and then call the police?? He never fired me and my company; we fled for our lives from his property, I called the Country Club Hills Police and had him arrested after he pulled a gun on me (Larry Scott). His complaint is full of un-truths, and iam no expert, but I think his family should seek mental help for him. I have never returned to his property since his arrest, I have no plans to return, and who-ever he hired to do work after we ran for our life, is no concern of mine. Since he could not discuss like a normal human his concerns as we worked, but choose to pull a loaded fir-arm because he wanted a lower contract price, has caused our contract to be null & void. When we fled his property for our safety & life he still owed me over $2,000 for the raw materials and tools that we left behind. Go to his storage and you will see 2 same type of ladders one mine and one his. All my sub-contractors were paid ahead of time, & we have cancelled checks to prove his lies. miller texted me asking me to drop all assault charges after he was bailed out of jail, this is recorded in my AT&T text cloud. This is strange because he never mentions anything about stolen property because it’s a lie. He filed a false review with the Better Business Bureau; see the attached page which has his false review & our response to the BBB. The BBB managers figured out his lies and allowed us to keep our AAA+ rating… He filed a false police report with the Country Club Hills Police trying to cover his miss- deeds, saying I returned to his property and stole a toilet after he pulled that gun on me and threatened my safety & life. That is a complete lie to the States Attorney General. I would never make a return visit to his property. All of his actions are out of revenge because he wanted a lower contract price, which I refused and did have him arrested for aggravated assault. The States assistant attorney general called and asked if I wanted to continue the case and press charges, I refused as I never hope to deal Miller again. I did want the Country Club Hills police to escort me to his property to recover my tools, but at this point I will just purchase new ones. Veronica’s Compact Company is a top shelf, licensed General Contracting Company; We have been in business for over thirty-five years and have always done nothing but A+ work. I am a man of God and will continue in my faith. I am a praying man and will continue to pray for evildoers. I pray all you liars repent before you die and find yourselves opening your eyes in a burning hell!!

    203K rehab
    $150,000

Larry Scott of Veronica’s Compact Construction is a total scam. He advertises that he has 30 years of experience in construction and is a God fearing man of the Church. He provided a bid for my 203k rehab loan that was accepted by Guaranteed Rate. Larry Scott does not have a working crew to come and do construction work properly. He took advantage of me being a first time home buyer and not understanding all the proper protocols to make a multi-unit building available for rent. Throughout the job Larry Scott took money from the draws provided from the bank and would not pay the sub contractors and would not put the money back into the property to finish the job. Larry Scott refused to finish the work In an presentable manner. The work that he got paid for was done wrong, improperly functioning and was covered up. I purchased my property in August 2017 and I have not been able to close out my loan due to the city of Chicago failing plumbing, electrical and ventilation inspections. Larry Scott also provided the bank with improper permits from the city of Chicago. Larry Scott of Veronica’s Compact Construction refused to give me the permits to get the proper inspections done so that I could close out my 203k loan. The permits that he did receive was also improper permits. He has take over $150,000 and I am left with a incomplete building that is unable to rent.

We will make available during proceedings an arbitration all the bank records of incoming draw checks from Mr. Hale's lenders and where every penny was spent. I did keep a daily log and a very transparent and detailed list of all paid out monies for materials and labor. Mr. Hale is pointing the finger at our company as directed by Fatimah Macklin as we did use Mr. Hale as a reference for Fatimah Macklin. Mr Hale has failed to mention the things that he allowed during the project. Funny how he never mention that his lender sent an email showing that we have departed ways with him keeping the full $16,000.00 10% hold back monies that was left in his account. Our bank and tax records will show the loans we had to take out for Mr. Hale's project and will clearly show the huge loss we took during his project and will clear up the integrity of myself and my company when the time is appropriate. When the time is right we will request that you remove the 2 negative posted reviews that has been posted. Thanks Larry Scott DBA Veronica's Compact Construction Company for over 34 years .

    Home remodel
    $36,000

Working with Veronica’s Compact Construction was the most horrible experience of my life. He does not know how to do anything and everything he touches turns out messed up. Not only did he scam me out of my money, he also stole money from me. I would recommend that he be investigated and that everyone run as fast as they can from this con artist. I wish someone would have warned me. I now need to pay double to fix everything that he screwed up.

I was referred to Larry Scott aka Veronica's Compact Construction by my consultant. Mr. Scott gave me a story of being a God fearing man that is heavily involved in church and told me that this was a job that he would have no problem handling. My bank required that he have his license, insurance, referrals and all of the necessary paperwork. The bank approved him and he was hired in July 2018 to do a renovation for me. He told me that he’s been in business for over 30 years and that he should be done in 3 months. Well........my house is still not complete and Mr. Scott is fired.

I do not believe that Mr. Scott has even a year of construction experience. He might have 30 years of experience in the art of scamming people, but clearly not in construction. This man has no idea what he is doing. His work is shoddy. I had 3 contractors come in and they laughed at my house. They said that it appears to be the work of a toddler. I posted pics for other contractors to give their opinion and they thought it was a joke. Many said that it's the worse work that they've ever seen and that he should not be in business. Everything that he touched is messed up and has to be redone. I was told that it will cost me $20,000-$25,000 (not including repurchasing new materials) to repair everything that he’s done wrong.

Mr. Scott was fired because he stopped working on my home after I refused to pay him for incomplete work. Per the terms of the loan, he is supposed to get paid based on draws once work is completed. The work that he has completed is not finished and it is shoddy. For starters, he received $2957 for cabinets that I purchased. He was supposed to write me a check but he instead stole my money and told me that he would not give it to me unless I paid him. He failed to open all of the boxes for my cabinets thus failing to insert all of the pieces. He installed my island crooked. He cut my crown molding in the wrong spot and tried to piece it back together. The crown molding has staple marks in it and nails are sticking out plus one piece fell down. He put super glue on my floors and he scratched my floors up. He used old drywall instead of using new drywall. My floors were not sanded correctly and the stain that he used looked like paint. My bathroom tiles are uneven and the shower wall grout is sloppy. The bathroom floor looks like an outside sidewalk. In addition, he hired workers off the street and didn’t supervise them. My house is a mess. I wish that I could post pics so everyone could see how awful his work is.

Once I refused to pay him the crazy man showed up at my house uninvited at 7:30am. I had already removed the keys from the dropbox. He knocked on the door as if he couldn't get in and then used an extra set of keys (that I had no idea that he had) to gain entry to my home. He ripped out my internet cord, unplugged my cameras and started threatening me. He then tried to steal my sink. He was pacing back and forth and talking really fast as if he was on drugs. He displayed crackhead tendencies. I had to call the police on him and have him escorted from my home. It made me very afraid and uncomfortable. He then sent me an email and told me that if I don’t pay him to go away that he will continue to hold up my renovation progress for another 4-6 months. There’s no telling how many people he is doing this to or has done this to. He uses the Lord and Jesus Christ to suck you in but he’s the devil. I hope that no one else is ever subjected to him. I am hoping that he one day gets what he deserves.

If I could give less than one star I would. Again, if you run across Larry Scott or Veronica's Compact Construction.........run and don't look back. You'll thank me later.

FACT: Page one of our homeowners/ contractors agreement states – the work will be completed within 120 days unless delayed beyond the Contractors control. I never told Fatimah Macklin we would finish in 3 months. Her plumbing problems and her constant adding to the project caused many delays beyond my control.. Lie #2 she posted Mr. ***** is fired. I do not believe that Mr. ***** has even a year of construction experience. He might have 30 years of experience in the art of scamming people, but clearly not in construction. FACT: I have many years of construction experience and our rating has never fallen below the A+ status with the Better Business Bureau. We have never scammed a single customer. I was not fired, but after Fatimah Macklin signed off on completed work and agreed to a 5th draw with the bank inspector/consultant and the lender, I am the one who got scammed as she has keep my pay to complete the project leaving me with nothing but bills from investing into her construction project. Lie #3 she posted She posted that my work was shoddy: As God is my witness- When her father walked into her house on the day of the 4th draw inspection, the 1st words out of his mouth was WOW! You have done such a great job here Mr. Scott. My response was, Thank-you sir. If my work was shoddy why did she not verbally express those concerns to the bank inspector at the time of inspection? Why would she agree to a 5th draw to complete the job?? Lie #4 she posted Mr. ***** was fired because he stopped working on my home after I refused to pay him for incomplete work. Sir, I never stopped working for her. I notified Fatimah Macklin that I would have to attend a funeral of a close friend in Peoria, IL on Saturday November 10, 2018 and she had no problem with that. I also informed Fatimah Macklin that I had a Garage support beam to install for a previous customer on Nov. 14th 2018. She said no problem with my notice to her. I have receipts showing that I was out shopping for materials and during the same days leading up to the 4th draw inspection, I worked to clear-up debris at her home. I never stopped working for her. I also asked her to have her night-electrician worker to please clean up the debris that was left after working as we were preparing for the 4th draw inspection. After the 4th draw payment was withheld by Fatimah Macklin I was never fired, I just never returned because of non-payment for work done. Fatimah Macklin tried to justify this by sending me a certified letter dated January 2nd 2019 forty (40) days after I was not paid. I submit to this case that if my work was not satisfactory it should have been noted in the inspection report and not forty (40) days later after checks were issued for approved and completed work. Lie #5 she posted: For starters, he received $2957 for cabinets that I purchased. He was supposed to write me a check but he instead stole my money and told me that he would not give it to me unless I paid him. The truth is the $2,957 was reduced to $2,678 because of extras she owe me for. I have email proving this. We agreed that it would be paid to Fatima Macklin after the 4th draw check was issued. Sure I was to reimburse her $2,678.00 out of the 3rd draw payment, but agreed verbally to do so with the 4th draw payment but how could I when she has keep the 4th draw payment, and the labor for the cabinet work, and the cabinets. How sir could I steal monies that was never in my possession?? I have an email note from the Bank inspector dated July 8th 2018 reminding me that I am to reimburse Fatimah Macklin for her cabinets when I receive the 3rd draw payment. I even mention this fact in my original demand for arbitration. I have never written or stated to Fatimah Macklin that I would not reimburse her for her cabinets. So in conclusion of this untrue statement by her, the lender owed her for re-imbursement, I was just the middle man used by the lender as a straw to give her the reimbursement. I will make the email from Robert Sabree part of my uncontested facts. I want to be sure she receives the money that her lender owes her. If she in fact has received any payments (unknown to me) from the lender after I refused to work for none payment, then she has received from the lender what was due her.
