What formula do you use to come up with a budget for a project?

Time and materials: estimate the actual construction time and cost of materials plus overhead and profit to reach a realistic estimate for the project.

We use the price per sq ft method; I also offer a time/materials cost basis method as well. For the price per sq ft method, there is a national book and information outlet for my service location as well as any area you would need to know fair pricing for. This book is annual and is very helpful to control the cost per sq ft, especially when the economy fluctuates, material costs rise, or there is a rise in labor costs.

There is no universal formula that will work for every project.
You have to know what you can do it for.
It doesn’t really matter what someone else can do it for.

That’s a good question.
Normally we take all the separate areas to be installed and break them down by style.
1} Demolition of area
2} Materials to be installed broken down by style, for example: Cabinets - materials and labor
3} Flooring furnish and installed pricing
4} Countertop materials and labor for installation
5} Backsplash installation labor and materials
6} Reinstallation of Plumbing for kitchen sinks/vanities
and any change orders that may arise

When it comes to solar installs we charge per watt DC. This includes, materials, install, permits, drawings and engineering.

Time/Labor and materials.

There is no formula for projects bc they are always different in scope, timeframe, access, and difficulty. Every project has to be considered from start to finish.

There is no set formula for a large project due to the fact that each project is unique. I first calculate materials, labor, time, and then profit for company. This way there is no mistakes.

Check cost of material & labor cost

A Kitchen bathroom project is an exciting home improvement upgrade. Before you start, make sure you have a realistic budget and stick to it. Budget creep can occur when you’re remodeling a kitchen, so how do you establish a realistic budget for your project.

  • Establish Your Priorities
  • Unexpected Costs Can Come Up
  • Hire a Professional
A do-it-yourself project will actually cost you more since you will not be just spending on the materials but spending on picking up materials, hauling demo, hiring subcontractors purchasing tools as well and more. In cases where you’re planning for a large kitchen bathroom project, leave the work to the professionals. Count on our team’s experience, and we already we have the necessary tools to get the job done right the first time.
Then give us a call at (610) 316-5049

It’s all depend on the complexity and size of the project. for residential remodeling and addition projects, I breakdown the work into line items and for the portion of the job that I self perform using my own labor, I go with time and rough material cost and for the line items that I hire subcontractors, I get 2-3 quotes. I cross check it with cost per square feet, add my Markup and come up with the final price.

Formula? Lol funny

Materials

There is no formula we use. Our budget for the project comes from what our client’s needs and wants are. We have a 6,000 square foot showroom just so they can see every knob and cabinet before they purchase anything. We keep our customers in the know through the entire process from sitting down with one of our in-house designers to the completion of the project.

Cost + 20 % that give us a fare market price to charge clients

After taking measurements, and discussing the needs/desires with the customer, we provide an accurate estimate based on time, material, conditions, etc.

Most of the time a budget for a project is determined by the client. Whether or not they want custom or not

Most quotes are based on the project time and materials, as well as profit and overhead. Materials cost vary, so it is difficult to put a sq. foot price on items

We use a construction estimating program which is used by 90% of all insurance companies in United States and Canada. This gives you a fair labor price also material price. It is all printed out in detail as to what items will be used to remove and or replaced, would you install new.

Past recorded data that has been collected then mostly time and material plus management costs and then a 20 percent addition after total cost of project just to cover unseen delays and or costs.

Comparing the scope of work for each project with previous experience to determine total time involved.
