Paving, Driveways, and Sidewalks
I bought this house in December 2022 and discovered water leaking down the basement walls the following spring, mainly in areas beneath the exterior concrete staircases. The sellers did not disclose this issue and had only tried spray foaming where they thought the leak was.
The problem appears to be drainage—soil needs to be regraded, and water may be getting under the concrete, especially near the staircases. I was told the driveway could also be contributing, and a contractor estimated $16,500 for a full replacement (not including demolition). I need the cost to stay under $10,000.
