    Install of new AC unit
    $11,000

Horrible AC installation and Customer Service. I had AC unit installed on 08/08/24 from American PHC. The installation took place for over 8 hours having in mind that my previous unit was taken down the day before 08/07 for no reason. After the installation the unit looked like a child was trying to build it. At the end of the day, I was told I am done and ready to go. The next day the temperature in the house was at 80 degrees with AC set up at 60. After I contacted the company, they sent me a technician to look at my Brand new and according to the installers perfectly working unit. Technician came with one of the installers and I overheard their conversation. The technician was yelling at installer telling him that if he doesn’t know how to do something is better to ask and not do it because now it will take him more time to fix the problems. Anyway, the problems couldn’t be fixed for 3 weeks (till 08/23/24). Everyday there was a different problem and still AC not working properly. My unit looks like “a joke”. My struggle was witness by a lot of my friends and neighbors. A friend of mine suggested me and found another company to come and inspect my brand-new unit. The company showed up right after American’s technician completed the repair AGAIN and assured us again the unit is working perfectly. These are the findings of the inspection:
Attached in the PDF are pictures obtained on the visit today 8/23/24 at …... Found exposed 240volt wire within the air handler cabinet loose and not properly secured. Found the supply air plenum not properly built, sealed and secured together and to the unit itself. Air leakage is coming out of the supply plenum and is built improper. This is causing static pressure issues and “turbulence” within the supply air distribution. Found the condensate pump installed with no p trap and the clear condensate tubing sweating tremendously. Found the interior drain pan cracked. The wood base the system is sitting on is caving inward and needs to be repaired however ultimately replaced with a new metal base. Found thermostat wiring from air handler to condenser tucked into the soffit of the home which is unprofessional and improper. Found the condenser sitting on 3 hurricane pads stocked on top one another, should be secured on metal support braced to the home to keep off ground level. Found the UV rated armaflex spliced and tape adhering the armaflex together however it is separating. Found 4” filter base not properly sized to the air handler cabinet, needs to be proper filter base to filter the specific C or D air handler cabinet. No electric heater kit was installed, unit was not labeled nor was permit pulled and inspection performed by county.
I contacted Jonathan to request cancellation of my contract, have my money back and arranging a date for him to come and pick up his unit. Everything I got was “I won’t give you your money back.” I requested end of August officially from his office to have the company information so I can file a complain and till today I have no answer.
Everything happened after the flooding on Aug 5th. It was crucial to me and my house to have a unit that is working. Every time when I was telling them and sending them proofs the system is not working, they treated me like an idiot giving me explanation that even 1st grader won’t buy. All these 3 weeks they’ve been trying to fix something, but they’ve obviously had no idea what the problem was. I requested my unit to be replaced with new one because obviously something was terribly wrong with mine but got nothing but more unsuccessful attempts to fix it. My house was under fire hazard for the time from 08/08 to 08/23 when I cut company the access to my property. Not to mention that the invoice I received had a signature that supposed to be mine accepting the job. I never accepted the job. I was calling and complaining every day. I lost 3 weeks of income because a technician was in my house trying to fix my brand-new AC unit. Please be very careful who you are dealing with.
