I hired Anson Masonry to do a small job of extending flashing on a chimney after I had my roof replaced. He charged me a relatively high small price but I figured that noone wants to come out to do a small job. He did kind of a sloppy job on the flashing and also did not clean up the worksite. There is a residue on my roof around the chimney area that did not hose off. He had indicated he would come back out by mid-week with some cleaner to take care of it, so I am waiting for his return. However, this mess could have been prevented by putting down tarps on the roof around the work area. He did no such prep. I am concerned that we will damage the new roof if he uses a strong cleaner on the shingles. I am giving him a chance to take care of the mess, but I am not happy.
