  I contracted Jeff McLindon (Apex owner) in March of 2022 to install a roof and windows at an investment property in Glenshaw. He installed the roof in May after some delay. The windows are a completely different story. The were originally scheduled to be installed in April then in May (he told me that the supplier screwed up the initial order). Then when the May date arrived he told me that the supplier screwed up again and ended up cancelling the order. He then ordered windows through a different supplier, which were scheduled to be installed the last week in July (beginning Thursday 7.28.22). When that day came and went he told me that the windows would absolutely be installed by end of day today (8.2.22) and that he would "work until midnight if needed" to make sure they were installed. The last conversation I had with him was on Saturday 7.29.22. After that he went radio silent and he has since seemingly disconnected his phone service and/or changed his number. DO NOT EVER WORK WITH JEFF MCLINDON / APEX / OR ANY OTHER BUSINESS AFFILIATED WITH HIM. Jeff has cost me significant time and money with his antics -- and it looks like I got totally scammed.

  Roof Gutters Down Spout Soffit Fascia

  $8,000

  I hired Apex roofing owned by Jeff McClindon in May of 2021 to perform the roofing and replacement of my , gutters, downspouts, soffit, and fascia. I have a very small home 2 bedrooms and one bathroom under 1,000sqft. The job took nearly one month to complete and he also constantly had excuses as to why he would not show up to for work that day. Less than six months after the job was complete and I payed him nearly $8,000 the sheet metal he put up blew off the house!!! Moreover, I have reached out several times to as him to come and repair it and he has had an excuse about every time he can not show up. DO NOT HIRE HIM YOU WILL BE VERY SORRY!!!

  Siding replacement

  $60,000

  I hired Jeff on April 7th, 2021 to perform a full siding replacement on my house for about $60,000. He took a down payment of $23,920 to order materials and told me it would be about 3 to 4 weeks to start the project assuming materials were available. AFTER taking the deposit, he stated that it would be about 4 weeks to get the materials in. Several weeks later with no responses from Jeff following several messages, he finally said that the materials were delayed. The materials came in toward the end of May/beginning of June (or at least that is what he told me) and then he kept giving excuses on why he wasn't able to start the project. After telling him I was going with a different contractor in the middle of July due to the delays, I requested my deposit back and was willing to take any materials he had ordered and have him refund me only the difference so that he wasn't out the cost of materials. He stated that he would refund me the entire amount but that he wouldn't be able to do so until he was paid for some of his insurance jobs. It turns out that he used my down payment to front the material costs for several insurance jobs rather than actually purchasing the materials for my project. It is now several weeks later and he still hasn't refunded my payment. I have bent over backwards to avoid litigation and resolve this amicably, but Jeff refuses to respond to my texts and calls, so litigation appears to be the only logical next step. I do not usually write reviews, but I am writing this one to tell people to beware of using this contractor. Jeff sounds like a nice guy and may be very good at what he does (I don't know because no work was ever performed), but he clearly overextends himself and his business practices are unethical if not fraudulent in using your down payment for material costs to fund other projects. Please be careful in hiring Apex Roofing and Exteriors!

  **DO NOT HIRE THIS SCAM ARTIST! HE IS A LIAR!
  How does this person sleep at night? A 3 day job turned into 3 weeks. Problems on the first day-then the second-and on and on! Intentional incorrect work was discovered and he looked so surprised! Blamed other people when he wasn't there. They had to be supervised like children. Jeff left my family's home a complete mess. Not to mention leaking and needing to be completely redone. He left nails and shingles on the roof and equipment in the driveway. He said he had a better paying job to get to.

  Replace Roof and Siding

  $7,200

  Roof/Siding replacement was completed July 2018. Rear dormer started to leak within weeks of replacement. Massive amounts of water in 2 interior rooms. Apex (aka Ridgeline) took 100% responsibility and promised to correct. Only to discover he doesn't even carry the required personal property damage insurance. After 1 year of continuous no-show's and excuses, I filed civil suit and was awarded $12,000 in damages. Jeff and his company have yet to pay a single penny. He lied about insurance coverage and having experienced crew. This is a part time job as he works night shift and rarely shows up at the job site. Consumer beware!

  New roof, gutters, soffit and facia, downspouts

  BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE ***************
  Please don't waist your time with Jeff McClindon who is the owner of this so called roofing company. He also uses another name called Timberline roofing.
  He was hired to do a new roof, soffit and facia, gutters and downspouts. This job takes no more than 2 days 3 at tops. Well it was the worse decision I made having him do our work. He is a total want to be roofer.
  He knows nothing about how to properly install shingles, sofit and facia or gutters for that matter. I had to fire this contractor for many reasons but the most obvious reason was that this contractor did not know what they were were doing. I had to have multiple professional roofers and consulting firm verify that the roof had way too many visual issues and that because of this alone. The work that was done could not be trusted. So I had to find a REAL roofing company in which I did and they removed everything that Jeff McClindon installed. And started all over. This person set me so far behind and inconvenienced my whole family and my neighbors. I can show you photos and emails of everything that happened. The other major issue is that he lied anout having insurance. I called the company he had listed on the sheet and they said he did not have insurance.
  Please don't hire this guy no matter what!!
  You will have nothing but roofing issues.
  Please spread the word. Stay far away from Apex Exterriors, Ridgeline Exterriors or any company that deals with Jeff McClindon of McKeesport PA.

  Repairs to a leak done a few weeks ago didn't hold up. The leak returned during a downpour, and was worse than before. I called, and have been getting the runaround ever since with 2 no show appointments. He does not call to cancel, you have to wait and wait, then call him. He seems like a nice guy.
