Bailey & Harris Architects believes “everyday” architecture can and should be extraordinary. We have expertise in reinventing floor plans of older homes, as well as building them out or up. We design sensitively scaled additions and maximize the potential of existing homes by finding space within the roofline and creating small spaces with substance. We organize new homes with polished floor plans and traditional details. We always make sure to suit the house to the site and often use vernacular and historical archetypes to give depth and character to the architecture and adjoining landscape. We get excited about timber frames, locally sourced stuff including reclaimed materials and craftspeople, wonderful woodwork, sheltering roofs, energy efficient building techniques, healthy homes, whimsical details and the sensible use of space. We encourage owners to “make plans with us…we make life measurably better.”
