    New Build
    $800,000

    I am currently under contract for a house with Mazzarino Construction and the process has been a nightmare. They are very attentive before you sign the purchase agreement, but after that all communication falls apart and the service is subpar.

    Early this year the team let me know that they may or may not need to extend my closing date, but they would have a definite response for me the following week. The following week came and I got ghosted. No reply for a week and my emails were ignored. Because they missed the date of updating me about my closing date (that was within 30 days) I missed locking in my rate, costing me nearly $40k on my loan.

    Additionally, after I signed I took time out of my work day to go have a design meeting. With travel and planning included I spent nearly 3 hours selecting finishes, only for them to let me know AFTER the meeting that I was too late in the process to change my finishes. After complaining, I was allowed to pay a high restocking fee just to get the finishes I originally wanted.

    Furthermore, all of the upgrades that you are able to select during the selection process seem to be outrageously marked up. I have priced some of the upgrades with other contractors and found that it is better to leave the house in the current condition and complete upgrades on my own dime after closing.

    All-in-all, I cannot recommend working with Mazzarino Construction when there are many comparable builders in Houston.

    Underground plumbing for a new bathroom

    This guy did such a bad job, I hired him to do the underground plumbing for my new home and he did not install a PTrap, wtf what plumber does not install an important part of a bathroom, he over charged and did a terrible job.

    We moved into our new home in January 2019. The sales representative and the construction manager were great. After we went to closing, we were subject to very poor treatment. I guess that the saying "You put down your money and take your chances" is true with MI Homes. The after the sale representatives were either incompetent, ignorant and/or apathetic. Multiple attempted contacts were unreturned. Multiple appointments were not kept. It has been over two and half years and our final requested service has not been taken care of. Overall, I am satisfied with my MI Home but definitely unsatisfied with the way we have been treated after the sale. Would I buy a home from MI Homes again? Probably not.

    M/I Homes has reached out and asked me to contact their warranty support that I have been contacting for the last 2.5 years. I have been treated poorly by them so why should I attempt to contact them again? It hasn't resolved my current problem.

    Bathroom Remodel

    Absolutely horrible craftsmanship. Bill charges a premium prices and delivers low end work. I hired him to do an extensive remodel of my master bedroom and I regret it every time I look at it. Horrible paint job, bad carpentry, and sloppy tile work. His crew has no business doing finish work of any kind. When you point out the obvious workmanship issues he becomes belligerent and makes little effort to correct problems. You will be doing your own quality control as he makes little effort to do so on your behalf. I ended up having paying him out and finishing the job myself because he cannot or will not engage qualified tradesmen.

    No cutting corners, no bull, gave me a slid price for top shelf work. Honest and very knowledgeable. The only contractor that will ever take care of my A/C needs.
