    roof removal & replacement
    $400,000

10 out of 10! You’ll be money ahead!

Regarding the basics: Huf was competitively priced, they showed up when they said they would, and got the work done quickly. They replaced 28 roofs, got them done quickly, and took care to not disturb landscaping, and were excellent at cleaning up afterwards. Great customer journey!

There was a bonus, which I believe sets them apart…I had a large deductible and the insurance adjusters “missed” a lot of items that should have been covered but at first pass were not. Joe Streicher worked with 5 different insurance companies, and 14 claims concurrently. Initially I used 2 contractors -and had a bake-off of sorts. There was no comparison, Joe/Huf Construction’s submissions were 2X larger (or more) than the other roof contractor. I was financially advantaged by using Huf. Plus Joe handled all the communication with the insurance companies.

Side note, I hate being hit up for payment 2 seconds after the work is complete. I always pay my bills and don’t like being treated like a deadbeat that doesn’t. I also expect professional grade contractors to have operating capital. I was treated well as it relates to paying for the roofs as insurance money was received.

    install a fiberglass pool
    $52,000

I would highly recommend this locations team to install your pool. Every aspect of the process was handled professionally, and every crew member was exceptional and answered my endless list of questions. Pool was in and ready to swim in two weeks.

I hired them to troubleshoot my AC because it was not cooling.

I asked for a service call on 06/15/2023 because my AC was not cooling. Kneeland charged me $555.93 but the system never worked. He also never diagnosed the problem and also never gave an estimate before charging.

    Pool Construction
    $145,000

We tried to address issues with the Las Vegas construction manager Chris but that was a joke. Initially he started with bullying tactics but when that wasn't working he switched to promising appeasement without delivery anything. After paying $100k up front, I've got an empty concrete nightmare my family gets to look at every day.

Inability to schedule or maintain a schedule.
Don't expect the materials to match any of the samples you selected from.
    Communication is horrible and nonexistent.
Don't expect project managers to verify work is done correctly.
Don't expect to receive the site visit reports. We've received two in over six months and that's only on ones we're things went properly.
Don't expect them to respect your property or home. Yes it's a construction area but it doesn't mean we should have to clean up trash or debris that they leave behind.
Designers have no idea about the products that are used, to request the proper design elements are met. Or how items will be installed.
    Unprofessional subcontractors.

Don't go through my nightmare. Find a different company.

    Pool Install

I truly hope no one use this truly horrible pool company. Our pool journey began in Mid June 2021and on May 8, 2022 we are halfway done with this terrible experience. We started with our pool designer who seem to be pretty good. We are first time pool builders and it was my wife’s dream to have a pool. We received quotes from three different companies went with Anthony at Sylvan because they seem the most honest. We were wrong. The lack of communication with this company is unbelievable. If you want any information on what is going on you must call the front office and talk to the secretary.. She is the only one you will speak to, getting in touch with anyone who can answer a question is impossible. We got our sketch of our pool and sign our contract. All of our questions were asked through email so we have a meticulous paper trail. Glad we did because the lying and changing prices started. It even went as far as our sales person forged a $3000 change order. AND HE ADMITTED IT!! These guys could not do something as simple as calling to get the utilities laid out properly. I, the homeowner, finally had to call and get the lines laid out correctly. Once they started prepping to dig (In February 2022) the 2nd half of the nightmare began. Slow is not even the word. We have had 13 rain days in 2022 in my area so I cannot comprehend this pace. They assured us before the start that everything we need for the pool is in stock. Again, they cannot communicate the delay. Only change we have made is tile and coping color sand all was in stock. We checked beforehand. We are sure there will be many, many , many more problems with Anthony & Sylvan. We just wanted to share the 1st year of our pool build so you wont make the mistake of using this company. Pay more at a better company and get the type of service you deserve when spending hundreds of thousands of dollars. Buyer beware, you have been warned.

This is the worst company I’ve had to deal with. I would give it -5 stars if it were possible. They had so many issues that I am not sure how this company is still in business. They did construction for my pool for almost 12 months. YES, ALMOST 12 (TWELVE) MONTHS. We signed the contract in early March 2020, and the pool was completed in February 2021. That’s unbelievable. A lot of my neighbors have built pools in 3 months – they started after me and finished construction before mine was finished. Now, I understand why no one in my neighborhood used this company for pool contraction, as this company just a crap.
I had the impression that my pool designer (Jeff) believed that he was doing me a favor by designing my pool. All changes that I asked him to make took him several weeks to apply, even small changes like moving equipment from one location to another.
The employees of this company do not know what customer communication is. If you are lucky, they will reply to your emails in two weeks, but it usually took three weeks. Even if you remind them during these weeks, they keep silent and do not answer any questions about your project. Sometimes, to force them to reply you have to CC the VP of the company.
It took this company 5 months to get city approval, really? It took less than a month for all of my neighbors who used a different company.
They failed with the Home Owner Association application. It had to be submitted two times before approval was received (this took almost an additional one and a half of months). How is this possible for a company who’s supposed to deal with this all the time?
They always failed to do construction on schedule. All requests for providing updates on the current work were ignored almost all the time. This company does not really know what it means to keep the customer updated on progress. You must demand it, and demand it several times before you get a response. You really have to push this company to continue construction. That is ridiculous.
This company does not know how to manage their contractors. Several times, contractors arrived with incorrect blueprints, which were corrected several months ago. Same thing with equipment – it was upgraded during the early stages of design but the contractors brought the old equipment. It took this company more than two months to replace the old equipment with the correct one.
The construction manager appeared only three or four times during the 7 months of actual construction. Instead of him controlling what the contractors were doing, assuming they were doing it according to the design in the first place, this responsibility fell on you (and you don’t get paid for it). Yes, you have to watch the contractors and make sure that they do things according to the design. In my case, I had to stop the contractors several times and tell them that this is not what I have in the pool blueprint copies provided to me. The contractors had to leave (for another several weeks) before they obtained the correct copy of the blueprints. This company does not know how to mange documents, how to update them, and how to share them with their contractors.
Beware about pool equipment. This company gives you entry level equipment and does not provide any options during the design stage. You have to notice this by yourself and tell them that you do not want this crap.
This company failed the city inspection several times.
If you’d like to be excited about your new pool, go with a different company and stay away from these guys. If you prefer pain and suffering during your pool construction, this company is definitely a top pick.

Fix my air conditioning which was not working.

Very Professional. When my cooling was out they fit me in between all the other service calls they had. They did the work in a couple of hours since my outside cooling unit needed replacing. It was 20 years old.

The only thing good I can say is they showed up when everyone else didn't even call. From there it was downhill. Humberto quoted me $250 plus the cost of the permit for adding an extension to water and drain lines and I accepted. They showed up pretty much on time, but ran into problems right away - broke off the Y to the sinks right at the concrete floor after about 5 minutes and spent 20 minutes to repair that. They added the two lines and drain pretty quickly and it looked good. I asked him to get the permit so I could call the inspector, but he didn't. He charges me $400 because of the extra work (which was his fault), but I paid it. The inspector shows and writes is up as an S trap and fails us. The inspector asks if the permit was pulled and I said I don't know. Apparently not when I call them and he says it is not his fault and won't call the inspector. I call him again and he hangs up on me. Seems like a good guy, but it appears he has lost his license. If he would have been honest with me I would have gotten someone else or delayed inspection at least. Now it is going to cost me $125 to re-inspect and pay for another plumber to fix. The other plumber comes in and says whoever did this didn't know what he was doing. Don't ever call these guys.

    Verified Hire

We had a great experience with Anthony. They completed the project on time and we really had no issues. We had some warranty items that they fixed in a timely manner. My only complaint is that they went through a period where they had a lot of turnover and I think they were stretched very thin.

Overall project was done well. We had several issues that were not handled professionally. One where by a snail doggie door was to be removed and bricked up. The worked knocked a hole thru my bedroom wall in the process. I notified the owner and sent him a picture. His response was, oh well things like that happen. I was informed the do not do inside repair. I had to hire someone to repair the wall and Repaint which cost me $330. The owner, John, continued to state it was not his responsibility. The second issue is with a drainage problem on the new patio. A stone bar was installed and water stands whenever it rains. We were told the could drill thru the bar and insert a pvc pipe but no guarantee it would fix the priblem. The owner, John, told us the water would eventually evaporate or we could sweep it off every time it rains. We invested $17000 in this project. The integrity of the owner leaves much to be desired. I am not sure I would recommend this company to any of my friends or neighbors.

Disappeared during the time the fence was being constructed. Did not deliver the proper resources (wood, gate hinges, pickets). Failed to return phone calls for days at a time.
Took 50% longer than projected and started 2 days later than promised.

Kneeland Air has provided five star service for me on my home for nine years now, and also for my interior design clients that have needed emgerency diagnostic service- for finding the problem to balance air/ or heating and output.
I have allergies and Kneeland installed commerical metal hard ducts for my home and also a new furnace. They have also installed a hot water heater for the 60 year old home that is located in the detached garage.
This is the only HVAC contractor information that I will give out to clients.
