Founded in 1969 by Ken Benson and Bob Orth, Benson-Orth has become a leading design/build general contractor in the state of Minnesota.

Humble Beginnings
In the fall of 1969, Benson-Orth Associates was founded by partners Ken Benson and Bob Orth to offer general contracting services in the local Twin Cities community. Operations began humbly, out of the basement of Ken's home in Golden Valley, Minnesota. With Ken in charge of sales and development of commercial and industrial buildings and Bob running the field operations, the firm flourished and grew steadily for more than 20 years.

Steady Growth
In the four decades since its founding, Benson-Orth has completed hundreds of projects including, but not limited to, shopping centers, foundries, single- and multi-story office and medical buildings, auto dealerships, motels, and heavy manufacturing buildings. Projects range from small additions (5,000 SF) to large, new corporate facilities (400,000 SF) and everything in between. Read more about our projects.

A New Generation
In 2009 Mike Monson became the sole owner of the company and a new generation was born. He assembled a staff of experts poised to grow the company in the business climate of the new millennium. His fresh ideas, boundless energy and in-depth knowledge of the entire construction process ideally position him to grow Benson-Orth well into the future.
