Bhujon Kang is a Korean-native registered architect in Arizona and Illinois. His career spans over fifteen years with a varied scope of design work including large-scale civic architecture, professional and educational interdisciplinary teamwork, advanced computational research, art installations, and design competitions. He led the schematic design and design development of the 500,000 SF “Busan Opera House” designed by Snøhetta. While at Toyo Ito’s office, his art installation proposal “Inside in” had the honor of being exhibited in Mr. Ito's exhibition, “Where is Architecture?” at the Museum of Modern Art of Tokyo in 2010. In Will Bruder’s studio (Phoenix, AZ), his facade design for the 240,000 SF “KAFD Portal Spa” in Saudi Arabia was an idiosyncratic system of a generative cladding. Recently, he won the second prize for “Haeundae Public Library” competition in Busan, Korea, and another proposal for “Seoul Craft Museum” was selected as a finalist.
Bhujon currently serves the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, teaching design studios and seminars. He was previously Adjunct Faculty at Dong-A University in Busan, Korea. He pursued his Master degree in the University of Texas at Austin where he was the recipient of Design Excellence Award in the School of Architecture
