  NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS Bill Smith, BPS construction. He was hired Oct 2023 to do a roof and soffit and March 2024 hired to do siding and skirting and also kitchen remodel with addution to be remodeled. By December 2024 all he did was tear my place apart and make it so I am NOT able to live in my home. He is not a contractor that knows anything about construction. I have fired him February 2025 and the Attorney General's office has been notified by me and have a case going against him. He took total advantage of me a a recent widow and an older woman who was very vulnerable at the time.

  Bill and Prudence Smith (BPS Construction) made off with my $22K deposit and progress payments for work they never performed as material they claimed to have ordered and never did. Talks a good line but will lie to your face and steal your money. Stay clear.

  If I could rate him zero stars I would. I signed a contract with him on 6-18-2018, paid him a downpayment in total of $12,050 to replace a garage door with a taller door, replace all the fascia all around the house and garage, and do a standing seam roof on the house. I was more than patient with him but he was full of excuses. He finally replaced the garage door (that he quoted me $2200 for - and this quote matched at least three other contractors) in November of 2018. At that time we agreed to hold off on the remaining work until spring - he promised I would be first in line. In August 2019 after many excuses, him ignoring my calls, not returning messages, etc I told him I wanted my money back - he owes me $9,850 for work that he never performed. I've seen nothing. Went through mediation with the state with no result - he offered $7000 - which means he is trying to charge me over $5k for a door install that was quoted at $2200. I attempted to sue him but he sold his house and moved out - the sherrifs couldn't find him to serve him papers. I spent right around $2500 in the attempt to sue him, so I'm out well over $12,000 and haven't seen a dime towards a refund.

  Don’t be misled by Bill Smith and his company BPS Roofing & General Contracting. They did some work on my deck to shore up the foundation on our vacation home in preparation for putting on a garage. Bill and is crew through all of the debris from the job site under the deck and left it. I gave Bill a retainer of just over $11K for the garage and when we found the foundation issues, he said he could take care of the foundation for $10K more. For that 10K Bill said he would put grates in the deck to ensure any water coming off the roof wouldn’t cause any further issues. It’s been over a year and a half and I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau which he ignored. To date the debris is still under my deck, I have no grates, and Bill has ignored my request to refund my balance and the cost of putting in grates. Bill will tell you what ever you need to hear to keep the job sold which isn’t an issue unless he has no intention of doing what he has told you. My advice is to stay clear of Bill Smith and his company BPS Roofing & General Contracting.

  Install exterior siding and metal roof

  Beware of this contractor! The siding we paid him to do was done so poorly we had to pay someone else to correct it. His crew was unsupervised, unskilled and poorly equipped for the job. We had also contracted with him to install a standing seam metal roof and paid him $6300 in advance to buy the materials. He delayed starting the job for weeks and months with multiple excuses. He finally agreed to give us our money back. That was August 2020, it is now 5 months later and he has not returned our money and has stopped responding to calls, texts and emails. We filed a complaint with the BBB which he did not repond to. This contractor repeatedly lied to and cheated us.

  Zero stars. Don’t be misled by the abundance of reviews that magically appeared overnight on the exact same day stating how great their job was. Maybe years ago (as these reviews state) they were something, but not anymore. As for specifically making sure to each state that their job site was left oh so clean, let me show you pics of the debris pile I have to find a way to now clear because Bill would never do anything. Stay far, far away from Bill Smith with BPS Roofing and his two not even actual contractor workers, father and son, Chad and Patrick C...I could write pages detailing the problems we had with this “company” before getting a lawyer and firing BPS and issuing a demand to pay for the 12k we’ve already put into a job that’s not complete. I’m sure he won’t pay as he won’t with other people either, but it’s a start. Workers peeing in my yard like animals instead of asking to use a bathroom, littering my property with endless cigarettes, damage to walls, damage to a brand new $1500 vanity, breaking a clock, beyond sub par work. The list goes for miles. Just awful. My husband is also a 100% disabled veteran and after being taken advantage of by these people, we will make sure the word gets out.
