  For no reason in the world do you hire this so-called contractor.
  I hired Broward Builder in May 2019. As of today, April 2021 they have not finished my project. They only have 1 or 2 employees. No subcontractor wants to work for this company because they are not paid on time. Orlando will tell you a thousand lies to justify his incompetence. When he finds no more lies, he will not answer your calls or he will simply abandon the work. I file complaints with the BBB, City of Fort Lauderdale, and the Florida State DBPR and he still doesn't finish the project. Don't fall for the lies and promises to finish your work on time. Like me, there are other projects with Broward Builders that are going through the same nightmare.

  House was promised in July 2020, still far from complete and little to no communication and lies about when things will be done.
  We contracted with Broward Builders in May 2019, with home to be done in July 2020. The timeline that was given was never adhered to and money was advanced prior to contractual payment date because it was promised that it would speed up the progress. A penalty payment of $100 per day after August 14, 2020 was added as an addendum to the contract in March of 2020, to be paid weekly. This has NEVER been paid to us.

  In August of 2020, there was a delay on parts of the project so we were asked to pay money specifically for interior doors, plumbing fixtures, and a driveway in order to keep other parts of the project moving. As of today, we sill have none of what we paid for. We personally called the driveway sub contractor, who said he was never paid and also can't get in contact with the contractor. The interior door company has stated an order was never given as of October 6th. And Build.com knows of the order, but stated that it was never completed.

  The contractor now ignores calls, emails, and texts. He states specific dates when projects will be done, but they never are. He says he will call us back in a minute or hour and never does. At this point, 90% of the project has paid for and when including accrued penalties and allowance differences, 95-100% of the project has been paid for. If we had to estimate, we would say 25% of the project is still open, with no significant progress being made towards completion in months.

  There have been countless lies and empty promises. Now, we have sold our condo because we expected to have a completed home months ago and still as of mid November have nowhere permanent to live.
