Capitol Glass, a company specializing in residential, commercial new construction sales, installation and retail window replacement, was founded in 2001 by Olympia native Matt Wolden. His "employees" are co workers and team mates that are just as responsible for the company's success. Today, the company boasts multi-million dollar annual sales. They attribute their company’s success to the fact they won’t cut corners. They say "that just isn’t an option." “From the high quality products we provide, to our unparalleled installation quality, we’re confident we stand above the rest. We will always try to maintain that,” says Matt.
After almost 30 years of working locally in the glass, window, and door field, he says he had his own ideas about how he wanted to provide both exceptional service and quality to their customers, while also providing a positive work environment for his co workers. “Ranging from how we feel the customer should be treated to creating and maintaining a positive work force, I had so many ideas I wanted to implement. Unless you own the company, you have no control over those policies,” says Matt.
Matt elaborates on how they will not allow a customer to be disappointed: “Every customer we have is truly special to us. We value them and will never take any of them for granted and that really pays off. We have more thank-you letters from our customers than I’ve ever seen at any place I’ve worked in the past.”
Matt commented on one of the benefits of creating a positive work environment for his co workers: “We operate as a team; everyone here contributes to the success of this company. We’ve created an environment that enables our employees to represent our business just as I would. They’ve been given the tools to represent Capitol Glass in a positive light. If the person representing our company is unhappy with their job, they won’t make a very good impression with our customers.” Matt continues saying, “We make sure that every employee stays up-to-date on product knowledge, installation techniques and factory certifications. All of our employees also deserve aggressive benefit packages and we make it a priority to give them what they deserve. Employees are the backbone to any company and I am not ignorant to that fact.”
