I’ve been patient for nearly 3 years now and haven’t posted anything negative about this company, but since it’s apparent that they’re not going to uphold their end of the deal and repair the issues they agreed to, I feel obligated to let others know what type of company Chaparral really is.
Our pool was completed October/November of 2019. There were a few minor issues that we weren’t completely satisfied with - the coloring of our sun shelf, a couple of cracks, and some clean up concerns. Jerry and Chad both agreed that everything would be taken care of. Jerry passed away and Chad left the company before everything was addressed. Jerry’s wife took over and agreed to correct everything. It took over a year and a half before we could even get them out to clean gunite off of our outdoor fridge. They still haven't cleaned the gunite off of our windows. I’ve reached out numerous times, but have been completely ignored. Elizabeth has gone so far as to block me from Facebook so that I can't leave a bad review and let potential customers know the truth about their horrible customer service.
It really makes me angry that we paid every penny and upheld our end of the contract, but they have not. Now I see all of these posts of these new pools they’re building and realize that they’re only concerned with the jobs that are currently paying them - not the ones that they’ve already collected on. Once they’ve been paid, you’re out of luck!!
If you’re considering using Chaparral Pools, run the opposite direction!! I’ve never in my life dealt with such an unprofessional company! I’m sure this is not what Jerry Pratt had in mind when he formed his company, and I know he would be ashamed of what it has become. If they put just a fraction of the effort into being an honest company as they have to ignore me, they would be phenomenal.

My experience has been wonderful with the company. Doug knows his stuff. I like the fact that he stayed in communication with me. Although we are late in completion, I feel confidant that the job has been done well.

I accidentally submitted a request on Buildzoom and came across Doug Kurtz with Chaparrel Construction. I am glad that this happened by accident. He is very reliable and dependable, takes great care in protecting you as a client as well as his own company. He was flexible and his work was thorough. We ended up hiring him for four more jobs and none of them were with regrets! Doug is now our go to guy! Seriously, if you are going back and forth between contractors, just pick Doug.

I was looking for a contractor to build me a children salon. I found Doug Kurtz with Chaparrel Construction. I knew from the first time we met, it was meant to be. He was super communicative from day one and started get things done before he even started the job. That’s how I knew he would be great. This is my first business ever and he was extremely helpful and guided me in the right direction to make my dream salon become a reality. I showed him some pictures of different ideas and designs and he also had great ideas and he built a beautiful modern children salon from top to bottom. I was so impressed with his work. I couldn’t have found a better contractor. I feel so blessed that I found him. Even now that I’ve opened and the job is done, I can still call him up with any questions about anything and everything. He has fantastic taste in design and he made everything from scratch. I even threw some last minute work at him and he still finished the job on time. I already told him my next project is going to be my dream home and he’s going to build it for me. I not only found the best contractor, I also made a lifetime friend. Thank you so much to Doug and his whole crew. I am forever grateful!!!

Over 2 years ago I hired Chaparrel Construction to build a 417 square foot guest house in my backyard to be used as a Airbnb. This business was to be my second job in retirement. Chaparrel Construction started off well and were very friendly. Unfortunately, I was pushed into paying them off in full before the project was complete. Once I did this Doug Kurtz rarely communicated with me or sent his men to work. Some of the measuring was bad and he refused to fix the problem so the tiles in the bathroom look horrible and have sharp edges. In fact Doug has been rude and arrogant with me. So as of today the house sits there incomplete and I am stuck with monthly payments for something I don’t have. Do not hire this company.
