Construction Enterprises

Construction Enterprises began in 1978 with a need to “value engineer” five stores at the Williams Center Forum into budget, allowing these tenants to execute their leases and to become a part of the newly developed and popular shopping Forum. Construction Enterprises ended up completing more tenant spaces at the Forum than any other General Contractor on this project. The reputation and contacts we developed during that project established us as a reputable and aggressive builder in the Tulsa market.

After outgrowing our offices at 15th and Utica, we relocated to the Red-Fork District in West Tulsa, opening our new offices and shop area in 1985 which allowed us the opportunity to grow and provide in-house project management, concrete, carpentry and HVAC services as a cost savings to our clients. Since those humble beginnings, we have been involved in the development and completion of well over 500 projects throughout eastern Oklahoma and the Midwest, as well as up and down the east coast. One of our earliest and most challenging projects was to resurrect the dilapidated, three-story Pierce Building at 3rd and Detroit in Tulsa onto the National Historic Registry. The Pierce Building is the only pre-1910 building remaining in the downtown area.

Some of our more interesting projects include the octagonal Skelly Drive Baptist Church, the Washington Redskins Locker Room at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C., and the elephant enclosure, giraffe pens and monkey cages for the Tulsa Zoological Park. We renovated a portion of the interior of Tulsa Convention Center to install the largest kitchen in the southwest, and installed the runway lighting control system for the Tulsa International Airport. One of our largest projects was the completion of the $4.6 million Fair Meadows Horse Racing Facility and Race Track for Tulsa County. We have also been involved in the development and construction of several shopping centers including the 45,000 square foot Southroads Village Center at 41st and Yale in Tulsa, and the 90,000 square foot Pavilion at Mequon Center showcasing the Great Atlantic and Pacific prototype grocery store in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

In early 2001, Construction Enterprises took another forward step, forming a real estate development partnership to purchase the property at 82nd and Memorial in Tulsa. We designed, developed and constructed the beautiful 26,000 square foot Renaissance on Memorial Shopping Center. Better known as Utica Square South, the Renaissance is a destination shopping area for many south Tulsans. Soon after that, Construction Enterprises also designed, developed and constructed the equally beautiful 48,000 square foot Tiger Plaza on Kenosha in Broken Arrow. Future developments are also planned as part of the urban renewal of downtown Tulsa.
