I bought a new home and it is not well built. Uses unskilled labor. Cheap products. Wires taped together. Cracks everywhere in foundation and control block. Davidson will not fix their screw ups. Constantly terror the home owners. Even stole my grass and left a stinking rotting ditch in back.Bricks are cracking. Very poor quality for the extreme cost. Only thing I say is make sure all is up to tops before you close. Will lie and say “ we will have it done before you get back”. They lie!

Gallatin , TN Carellton location.
A poor experience overall. I was initially so excited and happy at the prospect of buying a home with them.
After I signed the contract she didn't even have the common courtesy to say "thank you " , she said yay.
Once they had my deposit, the salesperson was too busy attending to her "music career" during work hours. During one visit I had to sit there and wait while she made arrangements for a music video she was shooting . On another , my time was wasted as she discussed her upcoming elective medical procedure. And on another , I had to wait while she discussed a recording session she was planning for an album. The "music career" was something I had to hear about every time we met, as if that had anything to do with buying a home.
The design person was inexperienced, disorganized and basically just wanted me to rapidly make selections and get out so she could enjoy her Saturday. She complained more than once that "most people don't care about the design process or what is installed in their home ". No guidance, little product knowledge. She's not a real designer , just an order taker. Never mind that I used my precious vacation time and spent thousands of dollars to fly in for this process. She refused to review the selections at the end of our meeting. I requested but never received any selection sheet , just a bill with no indication of what most of the selections were.
When I made the mistake of requesting a second design appointment , which would have been again more vacation time wasted and expense for me - I received a very hostile email , this temperamental salesperson was furious that I couldn't drop everything while I was at work to speak with her on the phone. ( Unfortunately some of us don't have the luxury of conducting our personal lives while we are being paid to do a job. )
Rather than apologize for their poor performance, she went on a tirade of personal attacks. She even accused me of bothering her after hours when it was she who contacted me after work hours - her choice - all I did was respond. She chastised me for once stopping into the sales office , during business hours , when there was clearly nobody else there and was well aware I would be in town that day. I had interrupted some "music career " thing she was doing.
She emailed that my reasonable request for a 2nd meeting was a nuisance , that they felt nothing would make me happy and offered my deposit money back. Sadly I've lost thousands of dollars in travel expenses for meetings with them and money I'll never get back for loan processing.
After I agreed to cancel my contract and receive a refund , the design person wrote me a lengthy email claiming she did a good job.
It was over and she just couldn't let it go.
If I wrote emails like any of these to a customer - I'd be fired.
I guess in a seller's market they can afford to be rude , argumentative and condescending to customers. Wow , how thoughtless of me when spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to request a second design appointment and expect the selections in writing .
Since such a small request caused them great offense , one can only imagine how badly they would behave if there were a big problem .
I really liked that house. All I did was make the mistake of wanting it to be beautiful as it would have been my home for years to come.
But I made the grievous mistake of asking these two people to do their jobs while they were at work . Their anger over using the options that Davidson offers was inexcusable. Not like I wasn't going to pay extra for them. Why have options at all if customers are not to use them ?
I cancelled because I will not give money to anyone who treats me abusively .
I have been in sales most of my life, not every job is easy , but as an adult - I know I still have to do my job. Its called being a grownup.
All this unhappiness could easily have been avoided if they had graciously said " Hey , we understand how many hours of your time you have put into the many choices you need to make , arranging financing , selling your existing home and contents, while working your full time job , getting time off of work, making the arrangements to travel and then of course traveling back and forth to see us . We get that you have not had one free moment since this all began and this process can be exhausting . We respect that you want to get the details right so we can begin construction and you can finally take a break for awhile. We appreciate that you came to us directly, saving us 2.5% in realtor fees. Thank you for offering to take more time off work to come back quickly. Sure, you can have one more design visit. "
But that's not how things went down.
Unfortunately , it is all about them.
