It all started back when I was in high school. My parents had purchased a “fixer-upper” of a house and we moved in. I had a big desire to remodel and update the house and they were brave enough to let me do it. While I must admit my quality back then wasn’t what it is today, the experience ignited a passion that continues to this day.
I continued pursuing my passion through college. I earned a degree in Architecture and then a degree in Interior Design. I graduated from San Jose State, in San Jose, California in 1998 and was married to my bride in 1999. I began working as a Project Manager for a “high-end” General Contractor. After working there for a few years, I knew I was ready to branch out and start my own company. In 2000, I started Degnan Construction there in San Jose, CA. I successfully built and ran this company where I used my architectural and design background to design-build many projects over the years. My main focus was high quality residential bathrooms, kitchens, remodels, additions, and re-builds. Later, I had opportunities to start doing commercial projects. This started through working with 4 large churches in the San Jose (Bay Area). I helped them design and build auditoriums, classrooms, I.T. rooms, pre-schools, offices, and many other projects.
