    Fire restoration
    $375,000

    My experience with del mar builders/Mike Hudek was almost as bad as the house fire that they were contracted to repair. The project was supposed to take 6-8 months per the contract, it was 1 year and three months, and $337,000 before Mike Hudek quit after not having a single portion of the project completed not even a working bathroom. It was nearly a year before his first subcontractors were fired after 2 months of not being on site and providing what would loosely be described as substandard and in some aspects dangerous work structural and electrical . Mike Hudek repeatedly caused delays by not paying the second subcontractor who I actually wish I had hired directly from the beginning, as his work was timely professional and quality. The overruns exceeded the allotment of temporary housing coverage by my insurance, Mike Hudek lied to me saying he would cover the overrun, but I ended up paying $7,000 out of pocket I assume this is another of his standard operating procedures used to extort more money by creating desperation to get back home. Lucky for me I'm familiar with most of the work and had a lot of time available to inspect and manage the work. In December Mike Hudek requested $60,000 "to push the project across the finish line", foolishly I gave it to him in good faith, and 2 weeks later he requested another $40,000 with barely any work having been done and no accounting for the previous $60,000, I also found out he hadn't paid the subcontractor, owing him $20,000 which I had to pay after Mike quit. Mike also owed the contractor who reinstalled my solar panels $3,000 resulting in me having to pay in order to have my system connected to the grid. Mike quit in December leaving an incomplete project, and debris which I had to pay to remove, as well as paying what owed the contractor and the cost for completion. I also had to pay to replace low quality undersized improperly installed windows. The project started September 2023 I finally got back in my house in February 2025. Mike Hudek not only should no longer be in business anymore he should probably do some jail time.

    Remodeled 3 bathrooms, replaced attic fan and installed 3 gfi plugs

    I had three bathrooms remodeled by Del Mar Builders and am very satisfied with the finished project. The work was excellent and the price very reasonable. I would definitely use them for future projects.
