Dibara Masonry

When Matteo DiBara and Michael Larusso emigrated from Italy to America in the early 1900’s, they leveraged the one skill they had to make a living – masonry. They each built their brick and stone homes from the ground up along with the help of their neighboring community and while at the time it seemed as though they were constructing mere residences, they were in fact building a legacy.

During their first few months as Americans, Matteo and Michael became known throughout the area as the go to source for masonry needs and over time, their neighbors began to trust them exclusively to build their homes – homes that their children would live in – knowing they would always receive quality work and honest advice. See, this was well before the time of strict building codes, local inspectors and permitting of any sort and as such, when Matteo and Michael were hired on to a project, it was only their pure integrity and quality work that ensured customers received a result they could trust and admire for years to come.

My great grandfathers were guided by the belief that when you work for a neighbor that you see every day, you have to deliver the highest quality in your work: there is no alternative. Yet, as the years passed and their craft became a part time job and eventually a full time business with the help of my grandfather, Pasquale DiBara, these values never shifted or faded in the least. To this day, I remember my grandfather’s famous adage, “treat each customer as if they were your neighbor.” At DiBara Masonry, that adage still holds true to this day and I can guarantee it always will.
