DO NOT HIRE! This was our first home improvement project so I had four different contractors come out to my house for estimates. We chose DZS builders because they had good prices and it seemed like Dmitry, the owner, understood my vision plus all the reviews I read on them were good. He had a contract in place and I agreed to the payments, work was to start on 4/1/2019.
I have not had a kitchen since 4/1/2019 and was told by Dmitry Sheynman, owner of DZS builders that the job should be done in a month. On 5/31/2019 (2 months later) I was told that our kitchen passed the rough inspection. After that no one showed up to our house to complete any work. On June 4th, 5th and 6th I texted Dmitry to ask when work would resume at our house and got no reply. On June 7th I got a reply saying that he was sick for a few days. On June 9th I asked him when he was coming back and he told me he came down with pneumonia and half of his crew was sick and he would let me know. I heard nothing from him until I reached out on June 16th and asked him if he would be coming the next day, June 17th which was a Monday. He said yes he would be there in the afternoon. He did not show up and I asked him what was going on. The next day, June 18th he sent me an email titled going out of business and the body of the email said "We regret to inform you that D Z S Builders have seized operations immediately." I have asked 2 times if I would be getting a refund for work that has not been done and he has not responded. When I look him up on home adviser he is still in business. I still do not have a kitchen and now have to be my own contractor. My whole house is littered with kitchen cabinets and appliances. We have been eating microwave food and take out since April 1st.
I filed a complaint with the CLB and hope that this is not a slow process but right now I'm not holding my breath.
