    IMPORTANT REVIEW:

    I hired INDIGO REMODELING/GAI Remodeling in November 2022 to take over my job after firing an incompetent contractor. David Hyrn, the General Manager of INDIGO was very friendly, assured me that he had a crew and was responsive until I signed the contract. The next 9 months were a struggle to get him to schedule work and answer texts. I trusted David to do this job professionally and it ended up being one of the most horrible experiences of my life. I did not see the red flags until I hired Indigo.

    Gus, the project manager made so many mistakes because he never supervised anything. He left the company abruptly within weeks of my signing the contract. David Hyrn had no idea how to pick up the slack, so there were weeks to almost 6 weeks where no one showed up. Admittedly, I had Covid for the first 2 weeks (of the 6 week no-show) at the beginning of February. Gus left at the beginning of March without notice and when David did send his guys, it was for a day, then not for weeks again. The job was one small galley kitchen, one 5 x 7 bath and painting a living room and one bedroom. ALL LEFT INCOMPLETE AND UNDER CONSTRUCTION by the middle of August, 2023.

    INDIGO REMODELING operated under GAI REMODELING in Wisconsin. GAI REMODEING DBA INDIGO REMODELING filed for bankruptcy on June 9th, 2023 even though they still billed me for almost $20, 000 on August 1, 2023. After numerous complaints, David re-assured me that his guys would be on the job on Aug 17th through completion. I paid the installment on August 3rd only to receive notice (on August 16th) that GAI/INDIGO had filed for bankrupcy on
    June 9th. Needless to say, no one showed up for work and after numerous desperate texts to David Hryn, he told me never to text him again. Evidently, I am one of 6-8 clients that were left with substantial jobs abandoned. I am out $20, 000 on top of the $30, 000 that I had already paid them.
    I had to hire an attorney and file a claim with the US bankrupkcy court in the Eastern Districtc of Wisconsin. I was advised that I might have a strong criminal case in WI for contractor theft, but I do not have the funds to pursue legal action.

    I just found out that GAI Remodeling, LLC dba Indigo Remodeling's Chapter 11 Motion to Dismiss was granted on Oct 11, 2023.

    It is possible that Indigo and GAI are now still operating, trying to or changing company names in IL and WI. I hope that anyone looking for a reputable contractor will look up lincense, insurance, reviews, BBB reports, names and public records before deciding to work with any contractor.
