GamaBuilt is a high-end residential general contractor and design-build firm serving San Francisco and Marin County. Founded in 2005 by Edward Gama, we work at the upper end of Bay Area residential construction, with whole-house renovations of San Francisco's Victorian, Edwardian, and mid-century homes and ground-up new construction.
Whatever a project calls for, from structural and mechanical to millwork and finish, we bring the trades together under a single contract, with one project manager accountable from schematic design through final punch-list. So instead of managing a roster of separate firms, the homeowner has one point of contact and one line of accountability.
We are a builder that speaks design. Edward Gama and our project leads sit in design meetings from schematic onward, working alongside architects of record, including MAK Studio, Philip Mathews, and Smith & Architects, to flag constructability, cost, and timeline while the drawings can still change. The result is fewer change orders and a finished home that resembles the renderings.
We pride ourselves in first-class project management with cost control, deep attention to detail, and close client collaboration. We transform residences into masterpieces that respect history while reinvigorating classics with modern touches. We see ourselves as advocates moving each project from concept to completed home.
