Upfront in the process we felt like we had made a good selection with choosing this home builder. Quickly it fell apart after they broke ground. They are incapable of building homes or having things go right the first time. We spoke with multiple crews on site and many confirmed this is not the result of the pandemic. This builder for the last few years seems to struggle when it comes to getting homes done. Don’t be fooled. I have heard every excuse in the book from them. Our 2000sq ft home with no basement was quoted at seven months to build but verbally said six months. 12 months into the build we had no keys. Finally, 14 months later we had keys. Six months later we still don’t have our punch list completed. This builder is three months behind on payments to us. Our house sat with no crews working on it for three months straight. It took them five months to get HVAC, plumbing and electrical into the home. They are incapable of scheduling crews. Not a single thing on our home was installed correctly the first time or did not need to be repaired or replaced. Their crews damaged our garage door in August of 2020. We notified them that day. They did not place the re-order until January 2021. We have had no garage door for almost a year, and it’s still damaged and nonfunctioning. Since our home sat open for three months straight from March to May we have higher levels of mold most likely in our framing from the water and snow getting in. My wife and I saved for three years to build this home, and built on family farm land. We fear the quality of our home and the battle of constant issues. We gave their team so many chances to get things back on track. Every time they made a promise they failed to follow through. No one hold each other accountable at this family run business. There is no reason to hire this company. You will carry all the weight anyways and can build the home yourself in the time it takes them to pull it off. Find another home builder that is capable.

We chose GJ Gardner to build our Dream Home. They started off okay but all went downhill very quickly. They made many mistakes and would not allow us to visit the home because of insurance reasons we were told. By the time we got to see the inside many mistakes had been made. The sight manager was awful to work with was incompetent and lied constantly. He was very lazy and lacked attention to detail and could not communicate with contractors or us. GJ hires the cheapest contractors they can find and has framers installing siding. We were told that we were getting James Hardy siding and they installed something much cheaper. We paid extra for Cascade windows and had Beyers windows and doors order them. We had nothing but problems with The widows cracking sliding door frames cracked and dirt blowing into our house. This is just a few of the problems we had with GJ Gardner. We called corporate offices and even spoke to Attorneys and we’re told that GJ’s contact is written so they are not responsible for anything and is very 1 sided. Do yourselves a favor stay far away from This so-called Custom Builder or have a Attorney look at the contract before signing. This has been a Nightmare we are still waiting for them to finish walk through items 8 months later after moving in.
