Founded by Basil Ambrose Green after his work on the Eldridge Hotel in Lawrence in the 1920s, B.A. Green Construction Co., Inc. has a long-standing presence in Lawrence, Kansas. The company became incorporated in 1948 and remains family-owned, now managed by brothers Tracy, Mike, Tim, and Mark Green. Over the years, B.A. Green Construction has completed numerous significant institutional and commercial projects, such as North Corbin Hall, Watkins Hospital, Watson Library Renovation, Spencer Museum, and additions to the Kansas Union at the University of Kansas. Additional local work includes the Lawrence/Douglas County Judicial and Law Enforcement Center, Lawrence Public Library, and Douglas County Bank’s main facility. The firm has also achieved recognition for sustainable building, with the Westar Lawrence Operations Center earning LEED Silver Certification in 2009.
