James Harlan
Artist, architect, author, historian and preservationist.
A Chicago native, James moved to Los Angeles to attend the respected USC School of Architecture graduating with a Bachelor of Science. He obtained his license shortly after completing his studies.

In 1989, James opened up his own architectural practice, specializing in modern single-family homes. His work has been featured in The Los Angeles Times, Metropolitan Home, and Architectural Digest.

Architectural Boards and Committees
He has served as Vice Chair for the Palm Springs Architectural Committee and currently is on the Board of Directors at the The Palm Springs Preservation Foundation. While at the foundation, James became inspired to write, "The Alexanders; A Desert Legacy" a scholarly look the iconic development company, detailing their contribution to the modern housing tract movement in Palm Springs, California.
