Harmony Construction Electrician

Rick Fleming has a degree in Civil Engineering with a construction option from North Carolina State University. He graduated in 1974 and has more than 40 years experience in the construction industry in positions ranging from laborer to Vice President with other construction companies. He has estimated and managed major projects for Fortune 500 Companies, including a $23 million expansion designed by Paul Rudolph for Burroughs Wellcome in the Research Triangle Park.

Rick has performed commercial, institutional, downtown mixed use projects, and residential new building and renovations. He has extensive experience with both “hard bid” and negotiated projects. He started R.P.F. Construction in 1997, and Harmony Construction in 2016.

Rick started Harmony Construction in an effort to downsize and simplify. This smaller company focuses on the local Asheville and Buncombe County customer’s needs. It has given him the opportunity to work more hands-on, the ability to move quickly, as well as lowering overhead costs. Harmony Construction enjoys the stability of a well established company, and has the same long-term skilled craftsmen as R.P.F.; in fact, the first employee who joined Rick in 1997 continues with the company today. Debbie is an active team member with first hand residential renovation experience, and keeps clients informed along the construction journey.

An Asheville native, Rick has spent the last 26 years back here in the construction industry. During this time, he has developed strong ties with the local subcontracting community, and he continues to enjoy mutually beneficial relationships with his repeat clients.

Rick welcomes the opportunity to become involved in projects as early as possible. As a team member involved in the earlier stages, he can provide valuable input regarding budgeting, including “what if” questions/answers, construction materials/methods, constructibility, review, scheduling, etc. He has assumed this role in many of the projects in which he has been involved. This approach often saves time in getting to an acceptable design and budget.

Rick Fleming is intimately familiar with projects involving historic tax credits, working in and around occupied facilities, and has an excellent relationship with all aspects of the City of Asheville and Buncombe County. He has been involved in many new and restoration/renovation projects over the last 26 years and feels very fortunate to have contributed to the growth and restoration of the Asheville area.
