Founded by Mike Hickman in 1985, Hickman Homes has built more than 630 homes throughout Central Florida and is recognized and praised as one of the premier custom home builders in Polk County and a pioneer in the Green building movement. Mike’s homes reflect the best of timeless design, innovation and energy efficiency.
There is no mistaking the passion Mike Hickman has for his homes and his community. Most recently, Hickman Homes won the prestigious “Home of the Year” award from the Polk County Builders Association in 2019 and Mike was inducted into the Florida Housing Hall of Fame in 2018 for his significant and lasting contributions to housing in Florida.
The company holds the distinction of being a Certified Green Builder known for incorporating the latest green and sustainable building principles into their homes – without driving up the cost of construction.
Mike welcomed his youngest son, Hunter, to the family business last year. Hunter, a recent graduate of the University of Central Florida, grew up on job sites and shares his dad’s love of building. Hunter looks forward to carrying on the Hickman Homes tradition of quality craftsmanship and core values for decades to come.
From drafting a floor plan until move-in day and beyond, Mike and Hunter are with their clients every step of the way. They are accessible and on the job site monitoring each project closely. They are strongly backed by Tammy Jennings, who has been with the company 16 years, and Craig Jennings, who helps manage the field.
The same personal attention, expertise and detail are given to their renovation and commercial projects.
