    Sam and his crew are great craftsman!

    His guys, Derek and Donovan, did great work in good time. They work like Titans with their speed and work ethic.

    It is a beautiful Good Neighbor fence (Shadow Box), extending around 40 yards long. Also they put up a small decorative fence.

    THIS IS THE SECOND INSIDE OUT PROJECT TO GO WITH A DECK.

    We’ve had a very positive experience using Inside Out Construction for our backyard deck. Our impression is that Sam Byrd used the same care, thoughtfulness and skills on our deck that he would have used on his own. This dedication was apparent, beginning in the quote stage through project completion. His quote was more detailed, thorough and professional than our other quotes, and offered greater visibility on labor, materials and job scope, which helped our understanding. Furthermore, Sam Byrd was forthright enough to advise us against one of our project requests, which kept us from going down a wrong path. We saw the same dedication in the Inside Out Construction crew, which offered good supervision, communication, technical skills and respect from start to finish. Consequently, our project proceeded to plan in a timely manner. We appreciate that Inside Out Construction is versatile, so will be able to take on our new home project. This summer, we are looking forward to using Inside Out to both re-build our front stairs and add a new balcony. We’d recommend Inside Out Construction for any home project you might have!

    Sam came highly recommended by a trusted Lumber company for our deck replacement project, and our experience has proven the recommendation to be well placed.
    Sam was very responsive, prompt and polite in communicating. Further more, he’s an experienced builder and has good eyes for design. He worked with our preferences and came up with an attractive and spacious deck that flows well with the rest of the garden - a deck we are so grateful to have especially during the pandemic lockdown period.
    His pricing was fair and he finished the job on time on budget in spite of the unexpected heavy rain and cold weather.
    We would without hesitation engage Inside out Construction LLC/Sam again for our future home improvement projects!

    Our experience with Sam was excellent. We had a 750 sf deck that needed to be replaced. Sam worked hard with us on the bid and construction cost. Sam was very professional as was his crew. He kept us appraised consistently on how the job was going - with no surprises. This was a $50,000 job and was bid lower than several others. We were impressed how Sam and crew cleaned up the work site at the end of every day. I am a real estate appraiser and I was highly impressed with Sam. He was referred by Dunn Lumber in Shoreline.

    I have worked with Mr. Sam Byrd of Inside Out Construction on several occasions. I first heard of Sam via a referral service suggested by Dunn Lumber. Our first meeting was for a relatively simple job that involved replacing several long cedar deck boards that had weathered poorly and developed cracks and splintering. These particular boards were in mid-deck (surrounded by “good” boards), and I’m sure less scrupulous contractors would have urged me to replace the entire deck. Not Sam! I realized in our first meeting that I enjoyed Sam, his sense of humor, his work ethic, and his honesty.

    A couple of years passed, and I noticed some pretty severe rot in the frame underneath a south-facing window in the potting shed downstairs. I knew just who to call – Sam Byrd. Sam replaced the rotten frame with finesse, and as a bonus, he didn’t break the vintage 1915 window!

    Fast forward a couple of years and I had some interior remodeling that I wanted to do – replacing an old marmoleum-covered kitchen island countertop that also hosts cupboards and a gas stove. This job kind of sneaked up on me (the replacement quartz slab arrived early) and Sam was kind enough to come out on a moment’s notice and swiftly do the demolition work of the old countertop.

    Two more years go by, and all of a sudden that old potting shed had a funny smell to it. It turns out some vermin had sneaked in and nested in the ceiling insulation. This was a smelly job, but it didn’t faze Sam – he jumped right in, ripped out the old yellow fiberglass bats, put in some new thicker insulation, and capped it off with a stained plywood ceiling. He eliminated the rodent entrance, too! I enjoy walking into that potting shed to this day.

    But wait – there’s more! My girlfriend K. had an interior gas fireplace with a large, exterior “cutout” that had weathered poorly (that dad-ratted southern exposure in Seattle strikes again). Once again Sam came to the rescue – he got up on a tall ladder, replaced the bad boards, primed and painted them, and was done inside of two days.

    One other great thing about Sam is that he knows *other* competent contractors. He turned me on to a great welder who fixed a broken iron railing on my front porch, and recommended an excellent house painter for my girlfriend.

    I cannot recommend Sam Byrd and Inside Out Construction more highly. Look no further!

    Sam and his crew did a great job. My family now knows the meaning of a properly built deck.

    On the prior deck, I fell through the step. It did a trap door, like a hangman's platform. Luckily I caught myself on the rail, but still got injured on the step below.

    Sam rode to the rescue and vanquished the old death trap. Sam cares about getting the job done, and DOING THE JOB RIGHT! The family now knows that a good deck has treated wood as the foundation. Stringers give secure safety.

    A north end Shoreline lumber store recommended Sam with Inside Out Construction as a capable and experienced contractor for a major deck repair we needed. We contacted Sam who promptly came over to our house to check out the job and then provided a fair and timely quote. He kept on schedule and budget and man does he work hard on the job! Best of all he is an absolute pleasure to work with and has an infectious can-do attitude. Watching him work is like a linic in creative carpentry and tips and tricks of the trade. We also had Sam and crew come out for several other fix-up projects (gate repair, molding install, floor repair, door fitting, built-in desk demo). He always sticks with the job until it is done and you are happy with the result! Highly recommend Sam as a master deck builder/repair person who can solve just about any other home repair/remodel puzzle!

    I would definitely recommend Inside Out Construction,LLC, owner Sam Byrd. Sam tore down our old deck and built us a beautiful new cedar deck. Sam is a very reliable, hard worker.He is also a very polite southern gentleman! I can't say enough good things about this contractor.
