By David R.May 15, 2024Verified HireEverything went really well on first contract, so hired a 2nd tiResponse from Kamp General Contractors, Inc July 22, 2024David was great to work with. Unfortunately it was a miscommunication since he was responsible for finish items. We only did the main shell. I believe I was fair for the credit given even though the fascia and soffit were not on the signed contract we did. I apologized for any miscommunication and always try my best for things like to happen through full communication with clients. John Kamp

If you are considering have some work done to your home or business I would highly recommend Kamp Contractor. They did an excellent job, they were on schedule and held my hand through the whole process. We had our bathroom totally remolded, floors redone, paint & new windows. Karen & John picked up supplies for me at 4 different stores on several different occasions. They also returned damaged materials for me. Not only did they both go way over and above the work turn out better than I could have imagined.

Permits
- Building permit records show that Kamp General Contractors, Inc has worked on 39 permitted projects.
The first contract was for a beam install and wall removal. Everything accomplished per eng. spec. Satisfied with the construction and the crew. With the Phase I complete, had my engineer draw up the addition remodel. This Phase II remodel was more involved and Kamp General contractors came in at 92k, a reasonable price for the work needed. In addition, Kamp was willing to work with me to accomplish plumb, tile, electric (I sub'd electric from a contractor Kamp recommended). Heavy labor work accomplished by Kamp to spec and satisfied. Two tasks remain, Soffits and Blow in insulation and that when Kamp General Contracting indicated they were not responsible for the soffit work, even after a Kamp sub-contractor was on site to estimate materials and labor. I contacted Bayside roofing to estimate the taks of installing soffits and the onsite visit by Bayside is when I learned that Kamp Contracting had installed the sub-facia incorrectly to accomplish the Eng. spec of "matching soffits". The sub-facia was constructed to current building spec and NOT to matching the existing. To match the existing, 3 rows of brand new shingles, the sub-facia and the drip edge must be removed, the trusses spaced for new 6in facia to be added, and then the matching soffits can be installed, at the additional cost of $3,000. Kamp contracting offered to cover 1k of the rework, and to reimbursee me for the blow in insulation which had yet to be completed. For Kamp contracting to shoot itself in the foot after all of the success made no sense to me when he clearly could have identified and corrected the problem, but that is what they chose to do. The final bill was paid in full ()minus the 1k and the $685 for insulation) and we end on business relationship on a sour note.
