"Steve" and a helper came to my home about a toilet problem. When he had finished, I asked him if I could pay in 2 payments as I have no credit card. Steve went ballistic: he said "You asked us over here without being able to pay? He told me I either had to pay up the $250 I owed, or he would make it $350, and told me not to ever come back. I certainly wanted to pay, just asked to make 2 payments. That's what set him off. I am 84 years old and have a low fixed income. Nowadays I have to struggle just to live. I also have serious health problems, including a brain tumor. I was so upset over his horrible manner of speaking that I became sick over his outburst. I have never been talked to and threatened this way. I am still hurting from his treatment of me. I had some meager savings ( not enough) which were intended for my car and home taxes, both of which come in November and December. It is a struggle to save for these taxes, but I had to use them to pay Steve. His final comment to me was a grinning, sarcastic "Have a nice day".
