We paid a $3200 deposit to Lou Beattie (dba Louis Owen Beattie General Contracting, L.O. Beattie General Contracting, Lou Beattie General Contracting) back on 4/20/18 for work on our deck, which he promptly cashed. After 30 days of failing to show up as scheduled, we asked for a refund of our deposit. He has repeatedly refused to give us our money back. We've been forced to file a suit in small claims court and are looking into the possibility of pressing criminal charges, Evidently he does a lot of work for a local realtor (name withheld but known) who specializes in sales in Brennan Estates (Bear, DE). Save yourself the headache and DO NOT hire this contractor, even if suggested by this realtor. Lou Beattie is unethical and, quite frankly, a thief.
