Michael White is a crook who is only interested in making as much money on a project as possible. He and his crew of incompetents worked on my 19th century home. He insisted on residing the entire house, though that was unnecessary. He could have installed high-grade insulation, but instead put in the least amount acceptable, less than he told me he would. He removed replaced most of the windows without my knowledge, but his workers didn't insulate the replacements. His crew also removed original interior molding, damaged the original plaster, and broke my personal possessions. His bill came to more than $100k and my tiny home still isn't complete.

I would absolutely recommend Mike. He does great work, is reliable, and is a kind, trustworthy person who takes pride in every project he does. He cares about the history of our community and how each building fits into it.

I have also called Mike when something random goes wrong with my house-leaky gutters, woodpecker holes, etc.-and I have no idea what to do. He takes the time to stop by and recommend a solution, even if there's nothing in it for him.

Mike White is an expert in older houses and technically very adept. He is a decent and reliable man. We were very pleased with the quality of the work he and his team undertook on raising the second floor ceilings (quite a big job). The project was delivered to budget. The project went on longer than expected, but this was due to a sub-contracted electrician who always seemed to have other more important work to do! I do not hold Mike responsible for this. Overall, it was a pleasure to work with him.

Michael White did a lot of the construction and repairs on the Meeting House on the green in New Marlborough. Some of the work was subcontracted to John Scapin, also a local builder and to a copper specialist for the dome. You can see John's work on the steps of the MH and at Gedney Farm. Mike specializes in historic restoration so if your project is restoring or renovating an old house I think he would be the person for the job. I know he has also built some fabulous new homes in the area. Mike is certainly reliable.
