The father and son duo was extremely cooperative until the contract was signed. they would show up for a day and then disappear for a week or two. Whatever they said turned out to be a lie. I have an exterior that has been unfinished for 8 months. I would not recommend MJH to anyone. They are liars and in the end thieves. If I could give any advice it would be turn and run. If you have sign an agreement rescind it now!

Steve Hunter and his Father John Hunter robbed us. My husband and I worked hard throughout our marriage to save money and live simply. After 31 years of marriage we realized the dream of having our old worn down home refreshed with siding among other much needed repairs. We were robbed of $30,000 and our house sits wrapped in plastic sheets exposed to the elements for the past 9 months. He was also a friend with whom we trusted. He might as well have come into our home and robbed our belongings. My husband and I have been victimized. The emotional toll it has taken on us cannot be measured. Getting ourselves to go to work everyday is only by God’s strength. Our money is gone. We know that God is good and will get us through this. I do not want to see anymore victims of this crime. Having your phone calls and texts ignored for month after month has been horrible. Please protect yourselves and spread this review so he and his father cannot victimize anymore people. The company is MJH Renovations. -

This contractor is a consumers worst nightmare. They began the job, stopped coming for two weeks, would come back for a day, disappear for three weeks, come for two days. Steve was only around when he wanted to collect a check. His insurance company dropped him. He tried to cash a check I wrote him two times. He does not respond. In the end, we had to fire him. He refuses to give a refund for the unfinished work. If you have ever heard stories about a horrific, lying, unreliable contractor, its probably Steve Hunter and company.

I recently had Steve remodel my bathroom. When I first contacted him, he called me back within 2 days. He came out for a consultation within 2 days and gave me an estimated the following day. He also rearranged his schedule and squeezed me in the following week.
I had the tile around the tub, tile on the floor and the bathtub replaced. He also knocked out a wall by 15 inches to give me more space in the bathroom. I had an exhaust fan with a light installed as well as an additional light in the tub area. My linen closet needed to have about 6 inches taken off but they installed beautiful adjustable shelving ( which wasn’t part of the original estimate and I wasn’t charged for it) , as well as a new door and I actually had more storage space when all was said and done. They also replaced my outlet covers and heat register without additional fees. The entire bathroom was painted ( walls and ceiling).He and his workers were very neat and clean during the demolition. Every day, they removed all the trash and left my house clean. Every step along the way, he asked if I was pleased with the work. There were a few minor things I wanted changed. He said it was no problem, the changes were made to my satisfaction.
I would highly recommend Steve and his company. They do beautiful work, they want you to be happy with the results, they stick to their estimate, they came every day until the work was done and they take pride in what they do. I plan on calling him back for more work.

Would not recommend anyone to hire MJH. It took them months to finish a few small jobs which we are now having to have another contractor look at because they were not done correctly. They would show up when they felt like it and didn’t do a good job, don’t hire them!!!
