    I hired Mr. Santo to repair, clean and paint my deck and build a brick raised garden in my backyard approximately 19'x3'x17". I had three or four estimates given before choosing Mr. Santo. I liked Santo because his proposal placed emphasis on the deck which was in pretty rough shape, pointing out the areas that needed more extensive repairs and explaining how he intended to fix them. The second part of the renovation was to build a raised garden using brick that would match the brickwork of my front steps and capping it off with limestone. The size of the garden was dictated by the area I had already been using as my gardening space, but having had two knee replacements, I was no longer able to get on my knees to reach the yard. Mr. Santdid the brickwork himself, and, from the first brick to the last, not one brick was placed that wasn't measured, leveled and plumbed from a multitude of directions before being cemented into place. It was a pleasure to watch such an expert mason who clearly took pride in his work and I feel very fortunate to be the recipient of that meticulous craftsmanship. Mr. Santo came with a small crew, only two other men, but they very clearly have worked together a long time. The project took a little over a week but some of that time was waiting for the deck to dry after being power washed before it could be painted. The deck got two coats of paint. The guys left the work space clean every day and bagged the trash so I had no problems with the sanitation dept. As far as the price quoted to me and put in our contract, it remained the same the entire job. There were no "unexpected expenses" or surprises sprung on me. Mr. Santo and his crew were great to work with and I will use them again when I have another job. I'm so pleased that I stumbled upon buildzoom and found Mr. Santo.

    Mr. Santos is a very skilled contractor with old world values and conscientious workman. He ensures that the work is performed professionally and on time. Further, his personal tile work is exquisite. A treasure!! There are still honest, skilled and reasonable prices contractors in New York. He renovated my home after hurricane sandy.
