N·B·F Architects, P.C. was founded in downtown Rutland by Ralph Nimtz and has been in business for over forty years. Starting as a one-man show, the firm was focused on the revitalization of downtown Rutland before adding John Berryhill (1980) and Alvin Figiel (1983) as partners of the firm. N·B·F Architects remained focused on community based projects and work that would improve downtown Rutland and other areas of Vermont. In 2009, Edward Clark was promoted to partner, and Casey Gecha became partner in 2020. John and Alvin have since retired. Besides the three partners, there are three staff members in the office- one registered architect, an intern architect working on licensure, and an experienced draftsman. The members of the office work well in a collaborative effort to meet the deadlines and requirements of a project.
