Old Richmond Exteriors

Our experience was so similar to many of those listed it is scary. Great product, great price - he promised to install within 3 weeks so we could put our home on the market. We gave him a deposit. He called a week later to schedule the install. Never showed up. We made another date for install. Did not show up again. This time Dave told us his wife was sick and in the hospital. Another date was set. Again, he did not show. This time he stopped answering our calls. I finally called him from another phone number and he answered. I asked for a full refund. Dave assured me he would put a check in the mail. Needless to say, the check never showed up. Letters were written - no response. We finally went to court and were granted a judgment. I am sure we are far down the line and will never see this money again! This man is a professional con artist! DO NOT USE Dave Isom or THIS BUSINESS!!

Although my stories are not as pitiful as some of these, I did contract with him for windows which were never installed. I gave a deposit and after 3 cancelled appts to install and another month gone by with no word from him, I realized I was not going to get the window work done. I am pretty sure he never ordered my windowns to begin with . I asked him to cancel the contract to which he readily agreed, and refund my check. I have not received any money back from him, nor do I expect to. I have done BBB, Contractors Board and now the Attorney General is investigating him. I am going to small claims court, however I feel certain I will never get my money refuned.

Much like other posts here we hired Dave and Old Richmond Exteriors to do some work on our house. We paid a deposit and then could not get him back on the phone EVER. When we did speak with him he made excuses and then made appointments WHICH HE NEVER SHOWED UP FOR. After 3 missed appointments and additional money lost for days off from work I asked for our deposit to be refunded. He agreed to do so but a month later still no refund and still no word from Dave Isom.

I have filed complaint with BBB and am filing legal action against him in small claims court but do not expect him to reply to those either.

DO NOT hire this scammer. I am a senior on a fixed income and this com man ripped me off, doing the same to me as others on here. The crew started the job, asked for payment, left without finishing. Told me one lie after another about completing work. Then stopped answering calls from me but answered when I called from different number. If I had checked this con man out on Chesterfield County court website, I would have know he has been a con man for years. One day he will double cross the wrong person and will get what's coming to him!

If I could do 0 stars I would. This guy is a crook and a liar. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HIM! He contracted myself and my company for a service and then stopped answering his phone. he stopped paying after the first month. He answer if I called from different extensions and then set an appointment and stand me up again. Please do not use him!! Awful business man.

I was scammed by this company for 10k plus. On June 19, Dave, the supply truck, and his workers all showed up and Dave asked for his second installment of $5280 for siding and windows. I thought, “No problem” and handed over a check. 15 minutes later, the supply truck left without leaving supplies and I was told that the truck brought the wrong materials. I figured this was typical and looked forward to the trucks arrival later that day as Dave promised. The workers were then told to tear down my siding as the material would be here later. Of course, the material never arrived that day, my check was instant cashed at “Check City”, and we were told the materials would come tomorrow. Each day of the week a new round of excuses came and I finally called the delivery company (Lansing) and verified that everything Dave said was a lie. In fact, the truck turned around because it was a COD and Dave had no cash. I then confronted Dave and he asked me if I wanted my money back. I said yes and he immediately called his workers off the jobsite and accused me of breaching my contract with him. I was then left in a situation with a completely exposed home, electrical boxes hanging, no gutters and a pending storm on the way. Luckily, I begged the workers and called a friend over to help me wrap my house with tarp and here is where I stand. My home is exposed and I am out 10k plus.

Don't pay his employees writes bad checks and took a customers money and never installed the windows! Still fighting him in court just to be paid four bad checks and two weeks nonpayment.... what a way to do business I hope karma takes everything from him!!!!!!!"

Awesome company, awesome crew and meticulous work. ORE is in the process now of doing my siding and will complete it within a week( I have a big house)! Dave and crew were never late, worked 10-12 hour days and never left any debris. They are experts and take pride in what they do and it shows.
Every deadline they set, they met and worked way ahead of schedule. The products are outstanding and yet even the top of the line products would not be worthy unless the workmanship was perfect... It is..
I love this company, my new house and am recommending them to anyone.. I will be happy to show off my house and give references...

We had Old Richmond Exteriors install some windows in our house. The Installers were prompt and courteous. They were incredibly hard working and went above and beyind what was called for in the contract. They found rotten wood around the windows. It was pointed out to us. To our surprise and pleasure, Dave (the owner) did not charge us anything extra. Eventhough We had 7 windows with rotten frames. The windows that Dave sold us were far better than their competitors. We had 4 other companies. Old Richmond Exteriors prices were very fair and after the work was done, We realized how good they are. My husband and I would recommend them to everyone

I couldn't agree more that Old Richmond Exteriors is run by a con man. We were very unhappy with the workmanship and his poor business tactics. We arranged a meeting with him so we could point out our concerns over the work that needed to be corrected. It was as if he had selective hearing because he totally ignored us. We finally told him we didn't want his services anymore. We felt he should at least come back and finish what we had paid him for since he had made things worse.
We have never been able get him to return our calls however. His work is supposed to be under warrantee. I've been tempted to call "8 on Our Side." Maybe all of us disappointed customers could pull together and spotlight this guy's poor workmanship. I personally believe he did not know how to do the work himself and his workmen didn't do much better. He returned one day when we weren't home and botched (I'm sure on purpose) some of the areas of concern. It's a sad sad day when you have to pull in a family member into the equation as a reason for not being able to return. SHAME ON YOU!

My husband and I had ORE install vinyl siding on our house. Their price was very reasonable. The best thing about our initial appointment was that Dave listened to what we wanted to do and showed us some samples. It was apparent that he really listened to us, because he have us a great product - Berkshire siding and trim and it was at a very reasonable price. The price wasn't the lowest, nor was it the highest. It was pretty much in the middle, but for the type of siding, it was the BEST. At the time, he said that it would take 4 weeks to install and we were pleasantly surprised when they were ready to install in 3 weeks. He kept us apprised of what was going on and what would be happening. Never did we feel like we were left in the dark about our project. The installers were great. They showed up in the morning around 8:00 - 8:30 and worked on the job all day. We were told that the project should take 4-5 days. ORE got it done in 3 1/2 days. Our family and neighbors have commented about how beautiful our house look with the new siding. Throughout the whole process, we felt that ORE treated our house as their own home. I almost forgot, they cleaned up everyday and my husband found NO nails or scrap in our yard. I would recommend them to anyone. In fact, they will be doing our windows and a new deck, when our tax return comes in.

We contacted Old Richmond Exteriors about windows and siding. They came out and met with my wife and I. There was no pressure and we felt very much at ease. This was a pleasant surprise, as we had 2 other companies who came out. Both of these companies tried high pressure sales, but this was not the case with Old Richmond. We decided to have the windows done. The windows were professionally installed in about 3 weeks from the time we first met with Dave. The crew arrived on time and the windows were installed in one day. The crew cleaned up all of the debris. The windows looked beautiful. The amazing thing was that we had some rotten wood around the windows and Old Richmond replaced it at no additional charge. After the job was over, Dave came out and went over the entire project with us. We are very satisfied and would recommend Old Richmond to anyone. If fact, we have already recommended them to many of our friends and our 2 sons who have homes on their own.
