R Lucas Construction and Design is a design-build company specializing in custom homes and residential projects. With a strong emphasis on design, we are able to create quality, creative new homes while keeping structural integrity and cost factors in check.

Ron Lucas founded R Lucas Construction and Design in 2005. When it comes to owning a small business, he followed his father’s footsteps. Ron’s dad owned a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) company after retiring from the U.S. Army as a command sergeant major. “I grew up in the HVAC industry,” Ron notes. “My dad instilled in me a strong work ethic, and taught me the importance of going above and beyond when it comes to customer service.”

The Lucas family moved to the Columbus-area when Ron was just 8 years old, so he considers himself a Fountain City native. After graduating from The Brookstone School, Ron went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Auburn University in 1991. He began remodeling homes in 1994, and fell in love with the creative process. “My favorite aspect of my career in construction and design is seeing the excitement on clients’ faces as we move toward the end of their projects, a time when they can see results taking shape.”
