Our main goal is to connect municipalities, architects, and designers with homeowners, and to foster conversation about the preservation of these historical buildings – public, commercial or private – by promoting the study of this movement. Restoration and remodeling projects should not begin without proper research, conversation, and outreach.
We want to start the conversation and remove all taboos and fears about remodeling these historically significant and pretty cool houses, and why not, even build new ones inspired by the modern era.
I proudly serve as a board member of Preservation Texas representing the South Texas region.
Our Harlingen modern home designed by John G. York in 1949 (as shown in this gallery) is what inspired my husband Lupe Gonzales and I to share our passion for modern architecture. We invite you to be a part of this effort.
Nydia is pictured here during a visit to the Bauhaus Archive. The Bauhaus Archive is a state archive and Museum of Design located in Berlin. It collects art pieces, items, documents and literature which relate to the Bauhaus School, and puts them on public display. Currently, the museum is closed due to construction works and will reopen in 2022.
