By Jennifer F.October 28, 2022warranty contracted to fix hvac$1,275
They left my fuse box and panel to condensor coils open when disagnosing the problem. They were an hour and a half late on install day after waiting 3 months for these jokers to get the right part in. They left a mess of the caulking and had bent metal everywhere. They came back the next day to make the work look presentable. Day after that, the unit stopped working. Another contractor had to come out and informed me that these guys put the coils in sideways since they measured the unit incorrectly. Now they won't answer the phone and say they need me to make a hole in the drywall so they can fix the crappy job they did with the drainage pipe. Do not allow Ruiz Air Conditioning into your home. Speak with your warranty company and be firm with them and make them use literally any other contractor. They are unprofessional and do not communicate.

By Mich G.September 13, 2022AC repair$3,100
They are the worst AC company I have dealt with. Both owner and (1) man team staff are rude and inconsiderate. They are contracted by the our Home insurance.- First American Home Warranty. They do not respond and/or answer.
Needless to say i refused they service and cancelled the home warranty.
They lie about repairs. The service tech guy told us what the repair was, and the report they provided have additional bogus fees they were "not covered".
They "fixed" the unit years ago and did a horrible job. Now they have to fix the "repairs" they did and are calling it normal wear and tear. HORRIBLE service. -

First American Home Warranty hired these people to figure out why the A/C and heater didn't work. They came out, tried to turn it on but couldn't get them on. They said it might be electrical. First American hired an electrician that said electric if fine, the breakers were just off. Why wouldn't Ruiz look at the breakers to make sure they are on? What an absolute waste of time.
But it gets better. Now Home Warranty are trying to hire these bozo's again. And they haven't answered their phone in 4 straight days. If your home warranty company is hiring these guys, beg them not to hire Ruiz air conditioning and heating.

They schedule you and dont even keep their scheduled time. Then Homeshield keeps them on their payroll. They both collect without stuff getting done.

This company is garbage and should have their business license revoked. If I could give a lower rating I would. We were assigned this company through our home warranty service and were given a window from 1000-1400. We are small business owners and my wife cleared her schedule to accommodate the appointment; however, no one showed up or called to say that they were running behind. When I called after the scheduled window the man who answered the phone called someone using another phone and I was able to overhear the conversation and him ask the technician where they were. He then told me that someone was on the way over immediately. When I expressed my frustration the person whom I had been speaking with told me that our loss in income "isn't that much" and that "this happens in HVAC." He then proceeded to call his technician back and told him "don't go to" and then gave them my address.
This is absolutely the worst customer service I have ever seen or heard of. I pray that this business goes under so that no one else can be victim to this.

Very bad experience, poor customer service. Never answer the phone and cannot give you an exact time of when they will come. Tech came checked my AC and 15 minutes after he left AC broke down again. Will for sure tell my insurance company that this business is worthless.

My ac is nice and cold, stopped making weird noise, was out of refrigerant, needed a new compressor. Works amazing! They were pleasant, hard working, took around three hours, it was 100 outside. I paid with a credit card the next morning, itemized receipt was sent to email within a few minutes.

By Marie W.November 25, 2019Replace my furnace via home warranty
My home warranty company insisted on sending them out to San Diego. DON'T accept them if you live in San Diego. Poor planning and customer support. There's no good reason to make a customer wait at home for 3 hours when they KNOW what the techs need to do on the day of installation. Moreover, the wrong furnace unit was ordered.

They miss appointments; owner and staff are rude at times. My first experience with them was in 2017. They replaced my compressor and worked on the motor. A week later the ac quit working.....the control panel fried and nearly caused a fire. They couldn't fix it. Fast forward to April 13, 2019. The fan on my ac quit working. They came out and got it working. 2 days later it quit again. Scheduled an appointment and they came again. One day later, same problem. They missed 2 scheduled appointments. Came and replaced the fan. One day later, same problem. They claimed it was a manufacturing defect with the mounting bracket they installed. Had top wait three more days.....it is now May 13. They replaced the mounting bracket. Unit worked fine until June 17th. I heard a horrendous noise (sounded like the fan blade came loose and was beating on metal. Turned the unit off and then on. AC came on but the fan did not. This is the contractor American Home Shield uses and I have informed them that their work, and work ethic, is substandard and that I prefer not to have them work on my unit again.

By James H.June 24, 2016Repair apartment AC unit7 days
Never on time, passive aggressive staff, will lie to you and never show up when they say they will. They say the AC is fixed when it isn't next day it is freezing up again and again and again. Owners son is a real piece of work uppity attitude, does not respect anyone. Very chumpy. Very self serving narcissistic. Poor work to boot.

Very timely and professional, with service scheduled promptly after contractor assignment by First American Home Warranty. Carlos came to the house morning of assignment and had AC working within minutes of arrival. Very pleasant experience!
