Our story begins back when the recession hit back in 2001. I, John Chavez, was 29 years old and was a professional auto mechanic. When the recession hit, it affected my family so much that at times, the paychecks that I received from the mechanic shop i worked at looked more like donation rather than a full paycheck that could support a family of 5 at the time.
I felt like I needed to provide for my lovely wife, Elizabeth , and my three children. I eventually made the decision with my family to get into the pool industry, where I had worked previously in my younger years. I always started in entry-level positions such as a pool cleaning tech, but often found favor from my managers and got promoted pretty quickly. I eventually started learning the business of pool repairs and renovations. Even in those positions, I was always promoted into higher management positions where I led and trained employees that worked in different roles.
Sadly, more often than not, I felt that there was a huge disconnect between proper customer service and pool service quality. I was unhappy with the way customers or employees got treated in the pool industry. While working full time at a pool company, I felt compelled to make a decision along with my family to study and become a professional licensed pool contractor.
It took every effort from the entire family, many sleepless nights, and many failures before I finally was able to get pass my certification back in June, 2014. After almost two decades of pool experience, Sublime pools & spa was born. We are now a fully licensed and Insured pool service & repair company. Our core values—Faith, Integrity, Quality & Reliability—represent who we are as a family and how we want to do business. We are 100% sure that treating others the way you want to be treated will change the industry and the world, one family at a time. Our family is on a quest to become the best service, repair and renovation pool company in all of South Florida.
