Burke Construction & Design

We hired Shane in October 2021 to finish our basement. Work started slowly and on multiple occasions weeks would go by with no work being done and little or no communication. After our dumpster was "accidentally" removed in February, we have not seen him again. We paid for materials that were never delivered, he has abandoned our job site and cut off all communication. We do not recommend Burke Construction and Design Inc.

Shane and his crew are very talented, however I would never recommend them for hire. The quality of work that he has done is fantastic, but now when it has come to closing out the permit and finishing the project, he has stopped responding, and now we will be dealing with the city to close out the permit and do the finishing touches. The "2 week project" has turned into a 2 year project and the communication from Shane has been awful. Similarly to other reviews, there were a lot of excuses as to why things were being delayed and not finished. I would never recommend Burke Construction & Design.

DO NOT HIRE

We hired Shane last spring to build a new deck in our backyard. At the time, he had many positive reviews online, although now I can see that all positive reviews are from several years ago. He was responsive initially, until we paid him a deposit for materials. After we paid the deposit, he basically blew us off. He sent a dumpster to our house and did nothing else. HOA approvals were not requested and we never saw any sign of permits being pulled. We were initially told that the project would take a few weeks to complete, and four months later we still hadn't heard anything concrete from Shane. We have a series of text messages and emails from Shane with reasons for delays and apologies, but he never did any actual work and never returned our deposit, despite telling us several times that he would return the money.

The only thing I'm thankful for at this point is that he didn't actually demo anything or start any work. Reading some of the other reviews, it sounds like it could have been a lot worse had he actually started the job. He took our deposit but didn't damage our property.

We will never hire Burke Construction and Design again!
We had a porch covering built over our existing patio with an estimated cost over $30K. We started the project August 2020 and was told it would take one to one and a half months to complete. After many delays and excuses and what Mr. Burke (Shane) admitted "I dropped the ball," we thought it was completed in January 2021. In Feb 2021 we noticed that an upper outlet was missing and singles came off the roof on two separate occasions. It took many phone calls and texts to Mr. Burke to get a roofer to come and repair the roof (May 2021) with a promise that a roofing inspector would come out to investigate. After multiple phone calls and promises of a return call, Mr. Burke texted us and stated if we called again "I'm just going to block you and we can communicate via email." That was on June 8th. As on July 14, we have seen no roof inspector and the outlet has yet to be installed with a hole in the siding. No further communication has been made by Mr. Burke and we are in the process of finding someone to install the outlet.
Mr. Burke makes many promises but never completes what he starts. We have found other websites that have repeated the same information that he starts jobs but makes excuses why he can not finish. We would never recommend Burke Construction and Design Inc. for any home improvements or construction.

My husband and I did a basement remodel and used Burke Construction And Design. We finished roughly 2500 sq ft. We couldn't be happier with the finish product and service they provided. Shane walked us through the whole process and we learned at ton about remodeling along the way. They went way about what was expected and had Monster Vac out to clean our duct work. And to top it off he had our entire house cleaned at the end. We look forward to doing future work with these guy. We know we found our contractor for life and refer them to everyone we know.

Had Shane From Burke Construction And Design out to look at a kitchen remodel. From our first meeting Shane explained the process and took the time to help us understand all the options we had in remodeling our space. We ended up choosing Burke Construction And Design to do our renovation. He was our highest bid but we were hoping it would be everything he promised. After completion of our kitchen we couldn't be more thrilled with our new space. The whole process was such a fun learning experience. We loved working with Shane and his subs. We would recommend Burke Construction And Design over and over again. The attention to detail from Shane blew our minds. He took care of the design, permits and build process and it went very smoothly!

Had a great experience with Shane and his crew. From the very begging of the designs down to the final touches Shane was involved in every detail and explained the process to us a we went along our remodel. Shane took care of all the permits, subs, material and over seeing of the project. We have to say with such a large remodel we were very pleased with time management and having workers on site every single day. We look forward to doing future with Shane and his crew. Fantastic guys to be around. And my house stayed very clean throughout the process just like they promised.
