In 3/18 I closed the purchase of a new home from Tommy Lawwell and have found that he is excellent on warranty work, builds an outstanding house. I would recommend Tommy to anyone. He is great to work with

Adding to the March 15, 2016 review I left over a year ago.
Some issues were fixed by the contractor, others were repaired myself, since it has been so difficult to get the contractor to do their job properly.
This is a continuation from the water spigot outside. While the contractor had someone come out to (fix) the leak from spraying out, all they did was screw in some new screws and called it a day. It had appeared to fix the issue, but when I went out to use the spigot, I attached my hose and it started spraying from behind the wall and now the contractor is telling me that our warranty is expired (even though I already have had issues with that spigot). He also tried to blame having a hose attached to the spigot during the winter as the reason why the pipe busted. There is one main issue, the hose wasn't attached during the winter as I didn't need it for anything.
Not to mention, I have another spigot on the other side of the house that actually does have a hose that has been connected all through the winter (forgot about it as its never used) with no issues what so ever. After seeing that the water pipe had busted and there had appeared to be cracks in the foundation, I went under the house in the craw space and noticed that I can see daylight through the foundation.
As of this moment, the contractor refuses to take responsibility for their poor workmanship. While also trying to blame me and my wife for their poor workmanship.
If you ever hear of a contractor named Tommy Lawwell who seems to build only cape cods, run the other way. Do not buy from this crook.
He has a few more days before we file a lawsuit against him.

Contractor claims to have blueprints installed in his brain.
Issues with construction:
Windows: Poorly installed. Gaps, wrong size screens on smaller windows. Forcefully installed screens resulted in bent locks leaves access for insects.Outside water: Stripped out bolt, water leaks, doesn't turn off completely.
Electrical: Broken light bulb installed instead of replacing bulb :Fire Hazard: Poorly installed plugs that don't sit flush with wall creating bent covers.
Nails sticking out of outside decks
Vinyl chipped or broken
Poorly installed security lights: Creates access to attic
Water leaks through back of sinks: Not sealed
4 inch hole in wall above sink to run a single wire: Was not patched
Outside gutter drain installed above back deck makes water run over bottom gutter onto deck.
Right after we bought the house we returned to our new home and found that the contractor had defecated in the master bath toilet and left it there.
We had a final walk through where we noticed a gap above the sink, the granite countertop was chipped, a gap was left in the stair trim, trim was not installed leaving a gap around the bottom column of the staircase, hanging light fixtures in kitchen not secure, staircase light has a gap above the light and they were supposed to clean but the contractor claimed his wife was on vacation when she was there for the signing.

Bought a house he had built, as long as you dont mind doors that dont fit right, poor quality outdoor deck/porch lumber, sheet rock nails popping out, wavy & cheep sub flooring, poor sound insulation, cheap construction quality, loose bathroom and cheap quality fixtures and leaving you with dead trees that you will pay to remove, other than that, a good deal.

Pros: home came with a one year warranty and Tommy has been good about fixing several issues; home is cape cod style and all attic space is maximized with storage closets; concrete/brick work, flooring, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC all seem to be done well with no issues.
Cons: poor workmanship; doors and windows are out of square and don’t shut properly; door knobs are flimsy; drywall work is terrible and some walls are more round than flat; absolutely everything in this home is the cheapest (toilet seats broke, surface of shower wall is chipping, entire house painted with flat paint and was peeling and chipping when home was only a few months old); entire section of front porch railing was wedged and attached to the porch with NOTHING but caulk and a shim; deck build is so pathetic, boards are too short and many nails don’t even reach the connecting board; grain of deck boards are upside down and cupping terribly; nails in floor joists and ceiling joists don’t reach connecting boards.
