Bob Avakian founded Vineyard Construction Services in 1992. Today, the Edgartown-based company is in its second generation, with Bob’s son, Derek, joining his father to maintain the family tradition of constructing finely crafted custom homes. Bob and his wife Gail came to the Island for the summer of 1973. Like so many others who visit and fall in love with the natural beauty and rich history of the Vineyard, the Avakians stayed and created a home for themselves and their two sons, Derek and Alex.
