Earthquake Retrofitting - Geotechnical Engineering and Retrofitting
Our house needs an earthquake retrofit to support the southeast corner which is supported by a subfloor with foundation. The northwest corner is on bedrock. It is approximately 1500 square feet, one story, and on a hill. We have been advised a geotechnical engineer would be optimal for the design. We also prefer contractors willing to go through the verification process required by the CA earthquake brace and bolt program in hopes they open up the program again next year.
