We’re changing our messaging system to let homeowners and contractors talk over both text and email. Running late to a walkthrough? Send a text. Discussing details of a bid? Send an email.
How do I send a contractor a text?
All messages sent from the messaging tool will send as texts. You can also text contractors directly from your phone using the phone number listed on your project page.
How do I send a contractor an email?
You can email contractors directly from your own email inbox. Just send an email to the email address listed on your project page.
What’s next?
In the next few weeks, we’ll add an email section to the messaging tool. You’ll be able to see all your texts and emails about your project in one place.
How will this change the messages I receive?
When contractors text you, you’ll get a text. When contractors email you, you’ll get an email. You’ll no longer be able to choose to receive all messages via email or text in your settings. If you prefer email over text or vice versa, just let your contractors know.
What if the phone linked to my BuildZoom account can’t receive texts?
If we’re unable to deliver a text message from a contractor to your phone, we’ll send you an email with the message. For a smoother experience, we suggest changing the phone number in your account to a mobile phone that can receive texts.
